Yeah this.... I’ve never heard anything but praise for the 1.4t. engine. I have one in my 2012 Abarth with 103k miles, that’s never needed anything but routine maintenance items. All the issues I’ve heard with Renegades all surround the 9spd auto. Which could have been avoided if people just chose the 3 pedal option.

I

I too have been noticing that LED brake lights are getting brighter and brighter by the year. It’s obnoxious.

Are we including the police themselves in this purge? I don’t know about police cops in your area, but in mine, by far the most obnoxiously blinding thing you can run into at night is a cop on the side of the road running his red and blue light bar which now consists of 1000 LEDs rated at a million lumens each..

Now playing

You are leaning into everything that made me want to punch a Volkswagen marketing executive in the face for this commercial.

Summed up my thoughts pretty well. Star for you.

My Mother had one. It was an ‘83 (I think) Reliant. White with red interior. Full vinyl bench seat and 4 in the floor with exactly the shifter you are showing. She bought it from Yearwood’s used cars (a friend of her Dad’s) around ‘86, it was intended to replace her ‘80 Pinto Wagon 4spd manual.

It was the most

And its fancier cousin, the Porsche 356, had a rubber foot pump to squirt water on the windshield.

I just pointed to it because it is cliché. I actually don’t buy into the Toyotas and Hondas run forever bologna. Hence I own mostly Fiats and Volkswagens. :P

How much screen time its gets in the new remake of Damnation Alley.

Everybody loves to hate on the Italians. I keep being told my Fiat is unreliable too. But 103k miles in and my Abarth has never seen the inside of a shop. In all fairness the only reliability issues I’ve “read” on the Giulia have been on the Quadrifoglio. Bleeding edge Ferrari engine with a couple of cylinders chopped

I’m a pretty big Shelby Dodge fan. I’m currently eyeing up an ‘87 CSX that’s for sale. Plus we had an ‘86 Shelby Charger, ‘87 Daytona Shelby Z, and a 4-5 other non-Shelby turbo Dodges in the family growing up.

Since you mention which of the ‘89 CSXs you have, I don’t know off the top of my head..... #321 :P

89 Dodge Shadow Shelby CSX VNT with fiberide, reinforced fiberglass plastic composite wheels.

If you factor out 2015-16 (which tends to happen when you release a new model refresh), 76k cars is right in line with the rest of the sales figures. But not having a 100k/yr spike due to new styling, that doesn’t equate to an “all time low”.

You say niche, I think more along the lines of diverse product lineup. They built more than a few thousand of them. And, they made money while selling them. Sounds pretty mass market to me.

Also what I’m saying by the Ford comparison is every one of these car companies has developed this mindset that if they don’t

What do you mean Mustang sales are at an all time low? They sold 76k of them last year which is right in line with last decade of sales.

The talk around my Midwest office watercooler is that everyone (couple of dozen or more) who has seen it, has hated it so far. They’ve hated both what it does for the Mustang as a crossover, and hate what it represents as an EV. I work in an office of approx. 1000 people, based on what I’ve heard so far from both men

What you really need to ask yourself is when did 40k Blazers a year become niche? There are manufacturers that their flagship model only sells 40k a year and they consider that successful.

This is like Ford saying, “We only sold 200k Fusions a year, so we’re discontinuing it because sales of the model just never got

Oh, you are that one person who bought an ELR.

If the electric F-150 isn’t called a Lightning we riot.

If Nissan would stop it’s rigid adherence to CVT transmissions and it’s peculiar tech like the variable compression engines, I know my family might actually consider adding one or two to the fleet. That VC engine just looks and sounds like an expensive shop visit waiting to happen for very little gain. And that CVT...
