Yeah, no... I like the red calipers on my Abarth thanks. Tell your friend he is free to take paint stripper to his GTI’s calipers though.

This is one of the RARE cases where an automatic transmission equipped Miata is acceptable. I’ve always been of the opinion you should have to prove that you are physically incapable of running a clutch pedal in order to qualify to buy an automatic MX5.

Mercedes knows.. they were there when the fire consumed the knowledge.

I’d put more stock in some of the reliability reviews except when I go to consumer review sites and I see comments like “This car is so unreliable, in 60k miles of ownership I’ve had to put 2 headlight bulbs in, change the brake pads, and get a new battery”... It usually makes me think people are just idiots and if

It’s the fast food philosophy of vehicle sizing. They all do it now. SM, M, Lg, Xlg, SuperSize versions of the same looking cars/SUVs with same corporate styling. Just as you are describing with GM’s SUVs. See also BMWs lineup, VWs line, Fords SUVs, etc...

Fiat has struggled because they’re so unreliable. The 500 was a hit right up to the point that everyone was reminded why they had left the US to begin with.

It was very very stock when I bought it. It had 37k miles on it at the time. Still sitting on steelies with hub caps and the original tires. I lowered it on coilovers. And did a few things to it like... euro core support and bumper rebar, e-code headlights, added fog lights, vr lip, ATS wheels, etc... But I haven’t

Buell was one of the few things “Harley” that I found even remotely interesting. I was extremely saddened to see them to leave it to die in the ditch on the side of the road after half heartedly trying to sell them in the first place.

I first really started noticing VWs when i was in high school in north GA. At the time I was a into muscle cars (still am) and in 1996 I was driving a 1970 Mustang 351 V8, but also in 1996 2 things happened Atlanta hosted the Summer Olympics and VW released the 4 color oddity the Harlequin Golf in a limited 264 car run

Came in to say this... Star for you!

Good grief.. there are enough of them out there. Just get another “better” one as a base line starting point and let this one live on as a parts donor. It’s not like it’s particularly rare. This one is far too gone to be financially or sensibly viable to resurrect.

Don’t know if it qualifies as an “expression”, but Chasis (plus mk “mark” generations particularly in the VW world), engine, and even transmission codes when referencing cars is pretty inside baseball that leaves a lot of my non car enthusiast friends scratching their head.

For instance:
A2/mk2 Jetta, with a 9A

And WRX is pronounced like Rex.

Gatchaman! We need more G-Force in our lives. But you can only play as Ken, Joe, and Jun? Not including Jinpei or Ryu, is a great big booo!!!

Well in honesty. The stock CTR is pretty damn ugly, and this doesn’t really look any worse.

And as an added bonus the CTR now comes with about 80% fewer fake vents.

I don’t even want to get into the argument of whether 95db is too loud or not or why doesn’t this affect motorcycles.

The whole problem with this, is it’s a law written with a definitive definition as to what is legal and what is not (IE the 95db limit), but it is up to officer interpretation and discretion to guess

That’s my precious. ;)

Bravo, star for you.

I personally prefer the facelifted SF 1st gens to the 2nd gens. But I don’t dislike the SGs by any means. But I do agree that the early SGs look better than the later ones. At least the SG managed to keep the mostly tall wagon asthetic. The 3rd and 4th gens are basically SUVs IMO.

I knew it was along those lines.

I know supposedly if you hold the phone with volume button down it won’t invert the image, but I have hard time training myself to do that since I use it as the shutter button.
