There have been a few but only a few documented cases of people being infected twice, each time it has been big news because if that is a common risk then it means there is no chance of herd immunity ever. No decent doctor would ever have told anyone that they can’t get it twice because every decent doctor would know

Immunity through antibodies is thought to last for 3/4 months, even though it is just (scientifically informed) speculation at this point. Not only, but according to physicians in the UK approximately 30% of those who have been infected (had a positive swab) do not have antibodies

Five American dollars says her doctor said no such fucking thing.

As another commenter said, lots of people have anecdotally had COVID, and some people have anecdotally had COVID twice. That doesn’t mean that those people got tested twice, or once, or that they’re being completely honest.

I (think) I read somewhere that the first confirmed reinfection was reported pretty recently in Hong Kong, where they were able to a) confirm the strains were unique vs. a “long hauler” because b) he had two confirmed positive tests from both infections. The second time he was asymptomatic. That said, I also saw

I have now had a couple of acquaintances who have had covid twice.

I feel like I should speak up for a (probably small) demographic. I care deeply about abortion rights, and have since I was about 10. BUT I don’t always click on each story for the simple reason that 1. I know it will piss me off and I have a 4yo in lockdown and can’t afford to lose any more patience than I already do

If I’m at a Lakers game and am asked to move from my seat so my cousin’s husband’s brother can have my court side seat, security is going to have to drag me out on live TV. Fuck them and the late horse they rode on.

I grew up in the 80s when Reba McEntire sang “Fancy” about a mother who sends her daughter into prostitution. I never heard anybody talk negatively about it. Cardi B sings about having sex with her husband and there’s an uproar. LOL

I listened to the song twice(ish) yesterday - the radio edit (?) with the video and the original lyrics, no video. It’s not my thing and I really don’t like Cardi B but I dig Megan Thee Stallion and am loving the “outrage” at them using “the p-word” and “the d-word”. And it’s really easy for me to just not listen to

Seriously.  If I have a seat in the front row of a fashion show, I am SITTING in the front row of a fashion show.  I’m giving that up for no one. Maybe my mom.  But only my mom.

I was wondering the same thing. Why on earth would they give up their seats for Pippa Middleton? It would be presumptuous even to be asked.

Kind of glad it’s not just me.

She gave him her heart, he gave her his chin.

Ah, I don’t shop there either, but I assumed that since it was a Chinese company selling on the web that they’d have a not insignificant amount of South Asian customers. Google has not cleared this up for me, so I could be wrong. To be honest, as evidenced by the absolutely dumb shit people on this super liberal site

This is not really a good counterpoint though.

Copying my own comment again lol: Asian girl from a Buddhist family chiming in to say that this IS a bad idea, because it (a) is offensive to many in the West and (b) makes my religion into a cute accessory.

“C...O...G...and we love spelling, don’t we folks? The vowels and the continents and the big, big words. And I know words, probably better than dictionaries. In fact, I had a dictionary doctor tell me once that they thought I should’ve become a dictionary since I knew such good word spelling. And I had a word come up

No. It doesn’t. It has a different meaning in Asia. The West is so fucking ignorant.
