I’m from the good ol’ USA and I actually really enjoy RHD cars. It kind of makes sense - it’s a bit like a motorcycle. Your left hand and foot are for the clutch and shifter, and your right side (well, right foot) is for accelerating and braking.

No.

I am. :)

Very well said.

Oh sure, I’m a bit slower on Forza when I use the 3-pedal setup than the flappy paddles... but where’s the fun in that?! My rule is to simulate what the car is really like. If it’s a race car, fine, paddles it is.

I probably should have given a disclaimer, you’re responding to someone who thinks that almost all $100k+ “performance” road cars are worthless. You can’t use their performance on the street, you probably don’t want to track it (and can’t easily get track insurance for something over $150k), and even if you do track

The problem with #1 is this: How often do you find yourself driving the car at 10/10? How often does it matter if you’re 0.2 slower to 60mph?

Anecdotally: Hit a raccoon, did about $2400 damage to a rental Hyundai, not including “loss-of-use.”

Don’t let this scare you out of ice racing! We only go out when there’s a minimum of 12" of ice.

Hey, here’s an article about it:

Not spelled “Porsche”

Oh, that definitely wasn’t me then! I do know a handful of folks near there with old Minis, but I’m not sure who was there around that time.

Haha, that’s already pretty specific! It’s possible you might have seen me around that area (that first picture was taken in Grayslake, actually), but I’d be surprised if you were able to see it in a garage there. How long ago was that?

Sounds good to me, I love a good foxbody! We’ll have to put something together in spring - the Mini got put into hibernation last weekend (and just in time!)

Got a cool car? Want to come to the Midwest?

Bring it to Chicago, I’ll trade you for a drive in my Mini.

Yep, I’m more than happy to test this if anyone needs a hand.

That’s normal. I’m referring to letting off the clutch slowly. I’ve never driven a car that would stall if you released the clutch slowly at idle.

I’m wrong that I haven’t found a car that can’t do it? That’s interesting. :)

It’s all good - it’s a clumsy thought to express! Haha

I think you’re saying exactly the same thing I am. I’ve never found a car that would stall unless you gave it throttle. It’s easier to manage in low-powered cars.
