I’ve driven cars from ~20hp up to 500hp+ with torque numbers to match. I’ve never found a road car that stalled if you let out the clutch at idle. Not one.

I’ll do you one better - here’s a picture of my Mini next to a Smart car at Oppomeet 2016:

So, fun story. Chris and I have spent time at the track together. Including an event where I put my car into a tire wall.

You sure? I really don’t think a ~5' stick is going to go in that easily. The wagon version of the Mini is still not even an 11' car, bumper to bumper. It’d be close, but I’m not sure it would happen. I am very curious, though.

You’re talking to the wrong person, ha. That’s my Mini, I (sometimes) ride motorcycles, I take risks and do stupid things.

For the sake of everything you care about: do not consider a Classic Mini for commuting, ever. Jesus, Jason. Even the wagon isn’t anywhere near long enough for a hockey stick. I don’t think you understand how small the Mini is or how long a hockey stick is.

We’re fortunate to have a series of quality videos on one of the most incredible car projects out there. It’s a little tough that it seems to move so slowly, but good things take time! Glad this got shared.

And they’re shockingly cheap!

In the US? May I introduce you to Spec Fit:

A friend had a ~510hp turbo FR-S that he beat on for 30,000+ reliable miles. At one point I traded him for a drive in my ~20hp Mini, and I have to say, it was insane.

Let’s say you average 40mph (because I said so). That’s about 36 million hours. It looks like they started filming about a year ago, and estimating 6 hours of sleep a night, that breaks down to about 2 million days worth.

Better?

Mine went *up* when I turned 25. It went up again when I turned 26. Only by a few bucks a year, but definitely not a dramatic drop!

That’s almost verbatim what I said to them, too. The agent said “No, that’s the quote. You might want to look at other companies.”

I got two quotes from one company for identical coverage, for a 20-something with a mostly-clean record in a Honda CR-Z....

A friend of mine is a musician who’s playing a show a few blocks from Wrigley during one of the games this weekend. There’s not a whole lot you could tell me to make me want to go.

It’s better if you’re a fan of a (potentially) competitive series rather than just a competitive Game 1.

Glad to see this! I wasn’t big on the new album, but on my flight back from Austin last night I listened to it about 3 times and I’m hooked.

I’m not familiar with the Lokar shifter. What makes it so tricky that your average thief couldn’t figure out? It’s just an automatic cable shifter, right?

I just get a little nervous about the paperwork aspect. Maybe that’s because I had such a wonderful experience buying an already-imported car. Who knows, maybe I’ll be in the market by the next time I come to Germany. ;)
