Those bikes are cool considering the time period, but owning one now would be ridiculous. I’d feel incredibly silly riding one even once.

Agreed. If they aren’t hurting anyone and they’re seeming to enjoy it - why worry?
Charging fares until you reach the “day pass” rate is fantastic.
It’s not really even about the room - I can fit another car in the driveway if I needed to. I just prefer to keep room open for guests to park, and I don’t want to leave a rust-prone Honda outside.
I’d do the same. I think the EG (hatch) is one of the best looking cars ever made - seriously. The simplicity is perfect.
A company I used to work with had to hire off-duty cops for daytime traffic detail (in uniform) regularly. Each cop made north of $100/hour and used their cruisers for free. The best part was, the official policy the Police Department had was to pay them with a check made out to the officer’s name when they showed up.…
Clean, simple, fun. It looks like an EG Civic hatch.
I disagree 99%. In fact, I think it’s even better to learn when you’re an adult. You’ve got a bit more common sense (I hope), and deeper pockets (probably) if you make a mistake and do some damage.
Typically the emergency brake is a secondary brake, either a drum inside the hub, or a second caliper - or at least a manually-activated version of the main caliper. The issue isn’t the cable, it’s the fact that hot brakes + hot pads = stuck. No matter how they’re held together.
Man, those rally lights are a perfect addition.
I do wonder why it was for sale in Illinois with Texas temporary plates, though...
I get that a German car should be LHD, but I just like how it feels to drive a RHD car. I have a RHD Mini, and it’s fantastic fun.
I wish the BMW was RHD. I’d have been all over it in a heartbeat.
There was a Martini-livery Lancia Delta HF Integrale on Chicago CL in July. The CL ad is long gone, but here are some photos:
It doesn’t exist yet, but as soon as the USPS phases out the Grumman LLV (Long-Life Vehicle) mail truck, I’m starting Spec Mail Truck.
Furthermore, that one thing is coincidentally the one thing most owners never use it for. Most people spending $40k+ on a brand new vehicle aren’t taking it off-road.
Ha, true story about Daniel Tosh:
When he was a student, he got a parking ticket that never got paid. Even 10+ years later, he had a hold on his student account preventing the release of transcripts. UCF Parking Services will always get ya!
The Citronaut is pretty much the perfect late-60’s sports mascot. It’s got that Jetsons-esque feeling to it. So weird, and so endearing. It’s probably my second-favorite sports logo, behind only the outgoing Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) jersey logo.
“U Can’t Finish” was always interpreted more about the school not offering mandatory classes for certain degrees every semester, or having nearly-impossible pre-requisites, and people getting stuck there for years taking BS classes. Although, the academic reputation itself isn’t perfect.
I had a coworker who had one until a few months ago. It was cheap, reliable, and fit his family and some stuff in the back. It got the job done. So no, he didn’t go looking for it, but it fit the bill for someone who wanted an appliance.
