I thought the same thing. I don’t know anyone from the UK who doesn’t know how to drive a manual transmission. I can’t imagine that people buying a sports car would prefer an automatic, so 45% automatic seems incredibly high.

Their ads have definitely targeted a younger demographic, especially for the Iron 883. It looks like they’re aiming for the “cafe racer” crowd more than anything. Just look at the pictures on the product page.

Default power is to the front... Until slip. If they did a halfway decent job with the programming, it will drive like a FWD car in the highway, and you won’t notice that it isn’t full-time AWD anywhere else.

You’re absolutely correct. I drive a classic Mini in the US, and you wouldn’t believe the attention it gets. At every light, people will smile, wave, and take pictures. They’ll honk and wave at you when you pass them. It's also RHD, which takes it to another level.

I’m always torn. There’s nothing more satisfying than the perfect heel-toe, but if I was racing wheel-to-wheel in a dedicated track car, it would be hard to say no to the perfect downshift every time. I’m not going to say it’ll definitely be faster, but that’s one less thing to worry about... tempting.
