Totally agree. Also, the oil monitor system on GM is programmed for extending oil change frequency, not engine life. When did not having to wait until 6,000+ miles between changes start to mean better engineering? No one is ever going to convince me that changing my oil every 3,000 is bad for the motor.

Unless it is on a GM 3.6. Those things get changed every other oil change.

David Tracy is the Pied Piper of Jeeps. He doesn’t find them. They come to him. He could find a Jeep at the South Pole.

Where I live, I don’t need 1000 HP. I would like to have an EV that would allow me to make it the 350 miles between fast charging stations and have range to spare. I live where it is cold and devoid of modern civilization. Hummers were worthless the first time. Now GM is doubling down. They need an EV that will sell

The only people that can afford Harleys are boomers. Even if I could afford one, why would I want to be riding the same bike as a banker a couple years from retirement? Harley has done little to innovate and it shows. They are loud, boring bikes. Accountants ride them to pretend their wives think they look tough in

I would drive this. I love cars that get me to where I need to go without drama.  If I am out looking for something to stop and see, I don’t need the distraction of the car.  I want to concentrate on finding a subject to photograph.  For me, the final image is what matters.  No one cares about how great the car

I've spent my adult life hoping to some how be related for financial benefits. Turns out my relatives predate those Hesses(correct plural spelling) coming to America by about 150 years.

Isn’t Le Sabre french for The Sabre?

Coming from a family of pilots, the best anecdote I heard about maintenance is that aviation parts cost twice as much as automotive parts. But, they last half as long.

This is the boat I am in. I leased an American Land Yacht and have two years left in my Traverse. As soon as I am out of the lease, I am getting an Impreza five door. Which can be had with a 5 speed. Counting those payments until I kick the Chevy to the curb.

My first car was a 1986 900s in rose quartz. I got it from my dad. We both loved our SAABs. We even took a trip to Sweden to view the factory and museum. Which is a long way from North Dakota just to see some weird cars. Best trip I ever took with him.

When you say ‘traditionalists’ that don’t like the new C8, I assume you mean old guys that drive five under in the passing lane because they think everyone wants to see who is driving that ‘cool’ car?

Where I live, about 15 years ago there was a sheriff patrolling in a nearly new first gen Mercedes GL. He patrolled in that for most of a decade. It was a drug seizure. Not sure if it is fiscally responsible to use a MB for daily police work, but it seemed to make a statement.

So like if Ford made a Lincoln Transit Connect?

There is a lot of butt hurt commenters on here. It sounds like you called them out and they can't handle it. I've been saying this for years. The only thing an 80,000 dollar truck is good for is hauling an under-sized ego. If you need to haul a big trailer, buy a real work truck. They cost less and work better.

Wool seats sound amazing. Wool is very durable. It is actually cooler than synthetics in the summer. Don’t get me started on leather in the winter. Get a little two rough with the brake pedal and you will be testing your seat belt’s auto-tensioner.  When did leather become the ‘premium’ fabric?

Great article. Amazing camera work (your photog deserves a raise). I miss old-school luxury like this. Quality of workmanship vs. obnoxious “features”. This car is beautiful and perfect in a way no one driving a current Cadillac will ever understand.

I think the C8 looks badass. Come at me, bro.

I get the “I need to sit higher, so I look bigger and more bad-ass” is stupid   argument. For most of the country, there is no need to have more than a few inches of ground clearance. Where I live, getting stuck in the snow is a life and death dilemma. I will take the poor(relative) handling and mpg hit for the peace
