Medicaid (as I learned when I made the same point you did once upon a time) also covers elders who are in assisted living. Presumably, we do not want elders with dementia to have to work to get their nursing home care, but I don’t know if Trump knows/cares.

But that presupposes that the Republican party cares about human rights. Here in the US, healthcare isn’t considered a human right. I fucking hate this place.
