I very nearly bought a CPO one last weekend. It’s a good car, but the regenerative brakes are far more aggressive than any other electric car I’ve driven (Teslas, a Leaf, and Chevy Spark), and you can’t adjust it. It means that if you let off the accelerator on the highway, you will jerk forward in the seat as the car

I think the Beast would be pretty neat to see, regardless of who’s riding in it. Note they said, “here’s the Beast”, not “here’s Trump”.

I found the Mustang version:

That concept isn’t even a “shooting brake” though, making it even more obnoxious. The contemporary definition of a shooting brake is specific type of wagon that only has three doors, not five. The Jensen Interceptor, Ferrari FF, and Volvo 1800ES are all examples.

For me, it depends on how the Stop-Start tech was implemented. On my wife’s Honda Insight, the big hybrid electric motor serves as the starter, so it would restart faster than you could move your foot from the brake to the gas. In that case, it’s a total non-issue, since it’s faster than your reaction time anyway.

Accurate username is accurate.

$500k for a bespoke one-off vehicle built exactly to your tastes? That’s pretty reasonable relative to other one-off cars.

Why? Think about people who buy lottery tickets: It’s not Sebastian Vettel, Elon Musk, or Jeremy Clarkson, it’s just your average Joe/Josephines who probably drive an F-150 or a Camry today. For us, a Ridgeline IS “going bigger”.

It’s easy to make a list 400 cars long, so I’m going to challenge myself and pick two.

Wow, you’re thick. I’m saying a job that’s obviously tied to a physical location (i.e. a mine) isn’t comparable to a job that takes place solely on the internet (i.e. blogging).

Unless they’re mining coal in Minecraft, coal mining is a physical job tied to a physical location. Your comparison doesn’t even remotely make sense.

Since when do online bloggers have to live close to their job? They have to live close to a computer...

...enjoy a little groovy infomercial music...

Oh please. Do you honestly believe EV owners can’t be enthusiastic about their cars, and have their own subculture?

I’d say that he’s probably a better diver than you.

I’d be curious to hear the assistant’s side of the story. There’s always three sides to a story: His, hers, and the truth.

Eh, that seems a bit harsh. Bill Gates seems like a pretty “nice” person, but billionaires are usually billionaires because they can make unpopular decisions.

It boggles my mind that the ancient TI-89 is still $130. The current form factor was released 14 years ago, and hasn’t been updated since.

...most were mated to a four-speed auto that was all but guaranteed to make you never, ever give a shit about it unless it caught on fire.
