In almost exclusively vigorous around-town driving, the computer says I average 17 MPG. I think that estimate’s a bit low and I don’t entirely trust it. I will say that while it has a diesel-like redline and power delivery, this “efficiency” model doesn’t come close to diesel-like fuel economy. It’s not bad though.

Bad news: the tax on your Scim ran out in 2005. Lizzie will be less than pleased with you.

Even after a few select mods (chip, exhaust, intake, etc), my 325e never felt as sharp and electric when accelerating as it did when cornering (or braking, for that matter). I think the general idea, though, is that the driver has driven the car often enough to have a sense of which gear to be in at which perceived speed. The

Yup. Had to do this myself in two cars during my lifetime.

What does high miles mean in this day and age anyway? I mean, if the mechanicals are functioning as they should and are maintained, and the cosmetic things look good, and you don’t have apparent age issues, like worn hinges or dry rotting window/door seals, is there any reason to not consider it? Sure, repairs are
