which engine in your Ranger?

JetBlue doesn't offer frequent flyer miles with any of the big 3 alliances though. Beyond just having a good flight, I like building up miles for award travel, using the lounges for free before intl flights, and similar perks. My favorite is Oneworld, usually AA.

My Miata has ABS. Not sure about whether that 2004 ranger has ABS.

Yes! I drove a 2004 2wd 3.0L manual ranger last weekend. I expected to think that it's hilariously awful. But, I actually really enjoyed it. It's much more communicative than cars like the Cruze and redesigned Focus. I have an NC Miata, and I agree with the "ranger is like a tall Miata" idea. :)

Hahaha agreed. When I've driven through certain states like MT and NV, looking at the speeding ticket fine schedule usually made me decide to drive faster. It's just so damn cheap. "So, officer, would you prefer I pay that with two tens or a twenty?"

That's true—the Titanium definitely has a better interior. But, I think the Titanium should have the same numb steering and unenthusiastic handling. ST should be better at this, but I don't want/need more power.

It sounds like you want a new car. But, my favorite 3 is definitely the 1st gen hatch, with a manual. More steering feel and better dynamics than the 2nd gen, according to my seat-of-the-pants-ometer. And, the 1st gen doesn't have that giant smile across its front end.
