I didn’t/don’t wish rape on the man who raped me when he went to prison. There are so many myriad ways to wish misfortune upon someone, I’d appreciate it if people would stop throwing rape out there as the du jour  go-to “justice” they’d like applied. It’s not a damn joke.

I guess I’m thinking of people other than you. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Agreed. I also find her response completely disingenuous. She did a juice cleanse that is marketed as allowing the client to lose 15 lbs in 10 days, and showed before/after videos on TikTok. Promoting that shit on social media with a huge following is toxic regardless of your body type (especially because eating

I don’t have any sympathy for Trump, but I have sympathy for all the sexual assault victims who see their trauma used as a joke. :/

I’m not outraged or anything either. Just pointing out it’s probably a good general rule that if you have to clarify that something you said wasn’t actually homophobic, but just advocating for rape, for at least couple of reasons I can think of, that statement probably wasn’t worth saying and probably isn’t worth

The backpedaling of “I wasn’t talking about love or relationships when I used ‘boyfriend’ to imply rape.” is especially weird.

“Let me be clear: I said nothing about LGBTQI/queer LOVE. Rape is an act of violence. Trump has perpetrated violence on hundreds of millions of people,” she wrote on Monday. “My hope is (and this is the first time in my life) that the tables are turned and he is the victim of perpetrators. #LGBTQIAally.”

Okay but I’m still going to judge Lizzo for promoting the bullshit idea of a juice cleanse.

This was a hard one to read because I watched the same shit happen to so many female classmates, grad students and PHD candidates when I was an undergrad. It’s why I didn’t pursue higher degrees and I imagine the same is true for so many women who leave academia when they have more to contribute.

I’m counting all my years in college: did my BA in 3 years plus a summer, MA and MFA were another 3, 3 years of coursework for the PhD, and then one year with a fellowship when I finished my dissertation. But because I am truly a one-trick pony, the whole decade was spent in English departments at 3 different

They just can’t stop being mad that two Black girls have the audacity to be from a well-connected, high profile family and are living their lives.

I have exactly three thoughts about that picture of Sasha:
1. Are we really sure that’s her? What looks like a bad use of instagram filter softened the face so much I can’t tell if it is.
2. Whether it’s Sasha or not, that girl is doing nothing wrong and everyone needs to leave her alone (everyone here seems to agree

I’m in the third camp of commentary: That isn’t Sasha Obama. It’s a gal who looks a lot like her but nah.

Sorry to be that person on a Monday morning but lovely Sasha should be wearing a mask, not more clothes.

The only skin they want to see is Melania’s.

Slut shaming never goes out of style, does it? And if you can direct it at one of the Obama girls, that’s just bonus points. How boring and tiresome and just plain ignorant it all is.

Have these people been to a beach? Or a women’s track meet? The fake outrage is strong in the GOP.

Why is there an obligation for them to get paid though?

“Not for profit” --- hhhhhhhaaaaahhhhaaaahhha.  I believe you can FOIA non-profits. Let’s see what the board and directors are making on this bullshit tax haven.
