So you’re saying don’t pet the dog? Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds?

We bought four chickens for 10 bucks. Technically it was more of a rescue than a purchase since they were among a flock of 100 that was going to be mulched up and turned into chicken fingers if someone didn’t collect them.

I was at a gas station and saw some packages of Zingers (vanilla), I do not eat snack cakes (or sweets really), but some end-of-the-world impulse inspired me. They go surprisingly well with a Chenin Blanc.

I ordered grocery pickup for the first time yesterday. I thought I was ordering a bunch of celery but only got a lonely single stalk.

I can’t really quarantine due to nature of work, but when I found out that I had to travel to San Francisco for 3 to 4 weeks, I bought three (3) huge fuckin bags of pistachios from costco and had them delivered to my location. I plan to eat every last one of those motherfuckers.

Name definitely checks out! Stay thirsty! ;-)

Not sure I would straight up call it weird.... But I’m a enthusiastic drinker and I have NEVER bought as much bulk alcohol as I have in the last 5+ weeks. Picking up pasta, bread, butter and milk weekly.... and multiple handles of vodka and Bourbon. ( I have extras just in case)

I dip all sorts of foods that aren’t pizza into pizza sauce. It’s a condiment as well as a main ingredient for a specific food. Broaden your horizons.

I’ve been using the Contadina for home pizza making for years. First in the cans, later in the squeeze bottle. (It keeps easier when you’re making a single personal pizza!) I really do think it’s a decent sauce for cheap pizza made on a bagel or on a sideways slice of French bread.

Plus places are still getting broken into, Jade Garden got smashed and someone stole the cash register from some place in Belltown.

Tons of Seattle is boarded up, too. Not Downtown where the fancy shit is, but in the drinking neighborhoods (talkin’ bout you, Capitol Hill.)

At least police calls won’t be wasted on them since they’re boarded up and emptied out. I mean honestly, I’m not going to offended that Mag Mile boarded up since they’re going to be closed for like 2 months at minimum.

I live in NYC and I’ve even seen security in, like, Ann Taylor. It’s not just the high-end stores, but I agree - not a crazy idea at all. I’ve actually been wondering about crime rates recently - at this point, unless looting suddenly becomes a thing, I think it’s more important for cops to be patrolling parks for

I dont blame companies protecting their assets instead of relying of the goodness of humanity. *eye roll* Some of us do live in reality

I’ll guess their insurance companies is having them do this to lower liability...kind of like removing all the booze from The Colorado Lounge during the winter shutdown...

A lot of store front windows have been broken out in DC. I don’t think boarding up is such a bad idea, especially since no one is going to the store every day to check on it.

Are these the stores that have security guards in them?  Because that's not too crazy.  Someone stole a Van Gogh

Normal to me means being able to go places without being terrified of everyone else. Honestly, normal means being able to set aside this anxiety over all of the unknown and hysteria of this all.

You just nailed that on the head right there. I have had quite a few discussions with my wife around the very same thing. How do things go back to normal still knowing that this thing is out there and could strike at any moment.

My hope is that we quickly scale up testing and get needed protection supplies to healthcare workers. Then we can figure out who has it and needs to be treated/quarantined, who had it and recovered, and who is still uninfected. Then we treat each group differently. (Assuming that you can’t get reinfected.) At least
