We are not pulling subjects off of the sidewalks to talk to them. It’s merely walking up and saying ‘do you mind having a conversation with me?

This is true for me. I mainly shop at Safeway and QFC (Safeway is cheaper, but QFC has better wine and cheese selections), but they both have locations near my home and on my way home from work, so that’s four right there. Then there are the occasional trips to Trader Joes’s and Costco.

If you haven’t hiked Oyster Dome during the winter, I highly recommend it. It’s much less crowded and, as long as it isn’t pouring rain, is under enough tree canopy that you won’t really get wet. I’ve gone there on a few sunny New Year’s Days and it was incredible!

I agree with you. Most of that doesn’t look outrageous to me. Heck, five or six items are basic for getting a good night’s sleep—no light, no noise, good mattress.

I believe it. I only do day hikes and many of the people I see on the trail don’t even have an extra t-shirt or bottle of water. I don’t want to die because I stepped off the trail to pee and got lost, so I carry a compass, a map of the area, and the essentials for surviving multiple nights outdoors. And there’s

That was my first thought, too.

It looks right up my alley—nothing fancy or pretentious, just great food and service. Thanks!

Yeah, those averages are bizarre. I spend $1,500 a month on rent alone (in a not-luxurious one-bedroom apartment in Seattle proper).

I was with you until “dollars-to-doughnuts the food will be better at the rural restaurant.” I was born and raised in rural Washington and still have lots of family there. With a few notable exceptions, most of the food I’ve eaten in those tiny towns has been mediocre at best, and the residents of those towns often

I rarely shop at Amazon, but I did recently because a friend registered for baby gifts there. In the reviews for one of the cloth books on her registry, there were lots of recent comments that the item was clearly counterfeit. There were photos of faded and off-kilter printing. Who knows what was in the fabric or ink?

Drone bird? BRB, gotta go shopping!

Ugh! There are so many good vets out there, but so many crappy ones, too. My previous vet was great for the first few years of their practice, but after they became wildly successful and expanded, I had some awful experiences.

Those cheek highlights are not great advertising for her palette.

Winter tomatoes have the taste and texture of sadness.

What really gets me is when the food has been sitting out for hours--like, it was delivered at noon and the meeting ended at 4--and people are still clamoring for it.

If you’ve ever had a kimchi grilled cheese

In favor of weed.

Same!
