I don’t understand why you need a MacBook to google — a Chromebook, or any laptop/desktop, runs browsers... and when you give up an iPhone, you have to go all the way to the Nokia? If you started off with Android, I think you’ll have a much easier time. Android, at least, is open-source; there are custom ROMs for most

Yeah, it felt really uneven compared to her efforts to cut out MS and Google.

I’ve generally enjoyed this series, but this one is ridiculous. Apple should be the easiest tech giant to cut out your life, since it has the smallest ownership of the internet backbone. There’s no reason to dive into Linux, when a Windows laptop is the most obvious non-Apple alternative. Why would you choose to go

While I understand not wanting to buy an Android phone only to abandon it couple weeks later, not doing so makes this less of an apples-to-apples experiment, wouldn’t you say?

Awful... you cut Google and MS to start with, then when you cut Apple everything is suddenly a problem. Of course, it is, because you’re unfairly cutting not-only Apple, but MS and Google as well. Actually, Telegram supports playing back voice messages at two times speed; something not offered by WhatsApp. It also supports multiple devices; something not supported by WhatsApp. It has standalone apps for Windows; something not supported by WhatsApp. It supports autoplay of next voice message; something not

Ok, that’s the weird part, because at least in Europe SMS is outdated, almost deprecated: no one uses it, just government bodies to notify you about taxes, appointments, etc. But people? No one, really. So no support for SMS is not a thing here.

its not owned by google, apple of facebook and its not even based in the us so serving papers wont get you knowere

I’d say telegram i considerably better than all those mentioned in this article including iMessage.
