They were recovered after splashing down in the ocean with parachutes — hardly high tech — and reused after extensive and expensive refurbishing, which killed the promise of fast and cheap rocket turnaround. The SRBs were technically reusable, sure, but it was barely cost effective or timely.

Your experiences are not being dismissed or not taken seriously. Quite the opposite, you’re acknowledging your experience and seeing how serious it is that you cannot command respect from your students and yet you think you’re the cat’s meow in the classroom.
