Go get a job that pays $8/hour — and leave your kids at childcare that costs $12/hour.

Let us olds have our thing.
Happy early Rex Manning Day!
WHAT WAIT WHAT TELL ME MORE
I loved that show. Essie Davis is amazing! I hope she’s in the movie.
They are? Love her! Her brains, her sass and her wardrobe!
Jon, Jon, Jon.
This is a really good point. If PP didn’t get federal money, then they wouldn’t be able to provide as many services, including abortion, as they do. So technically federal money indirectly helps them even though they aren’t doing anything illegal.
If the pro-life movement focused on sex ed and access to birth control, the number of abortion procedures would drop.
interesting. i’ve never made it that far. my boyfriend was with his ex wife for nine years, five married. i chalk it up to a lot of people marry someone they met in their early 20s. you really don’t know who you are until about 30 imho. people change SO MUCH from 20 - 30.
The very beginning of the show, when she’s still in New York, are incredibly different from the rest of the series. I highly recommend sticking with it, at least for an episode or two.
TMBG were on WTF with Marc Maron, and chat about making kids albums (and touch on some of the above points) from 37:22 - 40:46:
I’m 42. If I wind up being 1/10 the woman Emma Gonzalez is right this very second, I will consider it a win. I’m in absolute awe of her.
It’s his cover of Feeling Good (originally from a 1960s musical mostly about class war in Britain, but made famous by Nina Simone).
Being a working mom working for men whose wives do not work is the fucking WORST. They take all their subconscious bullshit out on you.
If we’re being honest, the entire childcare/work balance relationship is broken beyond belief in the United States (and probably elsewhere).
I’m not sure I’d call higher ed progressive or family friendly, at least for women. None of the women I work with who are married or have children would probably say so. Academia is notoriously shitty about maternity leave—not that they don’t let you take it, but that women get seriously punished in their tenure…
I feel bad for the Dad but... my need to leave at 5pm to get home and feed my under 1 child is questioned, and counts against me at my job.
How can you tell when someone is an Atheist ? Don’t worry - they will tell you.
That was ... what in utter hell was that???
