@Penny: Yeah, I mean wouldn't that just be situational depression?

@ChicagoSaphique: Except waiters and waitresses and other customers at bars and restaurant won't get cancer from the alcohol that patrons are drinking.

I think the bans will uphold, if only because as city after city (or in some cases entire States) implements them, outcomes continue to show *increased* revenues in bars and restaurants (which were unexpected), and pretty significant drops in heart attacks and strokes. ([www.procor.org])

@femme-feminista: Cheating is completely different from an open relationship— the former is a betrayal, the latter is not. So she may very well have said it (or equally likely not...).

@Pennyfeather: This made me snort in highly inappropriate laughter. Such a dumb movie!

@biancajames: Email was bad enough for me, but text message just sounds horrible.

@Zombie Ms. Skittles: I graduated hs in 1994, and recently had to de-friend an old acquaintance after he kept trying (I think) to hit on me. He is married with a 2-yr old child.

@artyfarty: I only watched about 30 minutes of it, and was in a Nyquil-induced daze as it was, but I'm not sure I could stomach seeing it 10 times, though am slightly curious to see the whole thing at some point just because it was so bizarre! And the "band" was just so bad!

@itsonreserve: She wasn't on my radar at all after Clueless, until I saw trailers for Uptown Girls. I couldn't believe at first that it was the same person— she was hardly recognizable.

@quatrevingtquatre: Late on night recently, I saw some bizarre early 80s movie (called Satisfaction, with Liam Neeson, Julia Roberts, and Justine Bateman among others) that I don't remember from the time...

@hortense: That's a good point, but on the other hand, many of us have dealt with (non-celebrity) friends or family members with similar issues and it's pretty common for them to refuse all help, over and over and over again.

@Etoiles: Flight is not until 10 pm Wednesday evening, with no more precipitation forecast before then, so I'm fairly confident it'll all be cleared up by then...

@Etoiles: I'm here in DC (family in London where we were all to meet) right now, and can't believe how paralyzed it still is. Any chance you can do part of your trip by car (even a one-way rental given the multiple legs?)

We may not see my sister and my nephew at Christmas because of this mess, and I only see her twice a year so this is a huge bummer for me :(

@LittleYellowPussycat: Interestingly, it's all speculation that she might be canned. I read the Washington Post article, and nowhere does it give any evidence or even "sources" that the Obamas want to fire her. Instead, people are just guessing based on the fact that she still hasn't given (or possibly been allowed

@CurtCole: Ah, that picture will never get old. And how cool for that little girl to have a story to tell for the rest of her life—about having to try and keep a straight face reading in front of the press while trying to pretend the President isn't sitting next to you holding an upside book.

I read the Post article this morning, and while it clarified a lot of the night's events, it also made it *really* clear that Cathy Hargraves is Bitter McBitterson...I thought they gave her statements on how it's "supposed" to work, and what Rogers should have done a little too much weight, given that Rogers is
