@Tambar: Ooh, you never told?? Well played, my friend.

@Tambar: oly crap, you two are lucky!! What did your parents say?

@EndangeredRed: Agree that the rest of her quote was spot on! Though I think you managed to articulate what's bothered me— it *is* namedropping.

It bothers me (somewhat irrationally, I know) that Rihanna said, "I love food because I'm from Barbados."

@Sputnik_Sweetheart: OK, but not to be morbid, but it would be really easy to sneak poison in past metal detectors and even purse checks in screening (disguise as eye drops or what have you), and then expose the President to it somehow in the receiving line. It might sound like a stretch, but I've heard of stranger

@Snowbunny: Lifetime movie material, right there...

@SUNNY1: Maybe he wasn't even 40? Sounds like she made up some of the details, so maybe his age as well?

I love the overly-earnest tone of the piece analyzing a courtroom sketch of Nicole Richie as if it were a Renaissance painting.

@Blodwynn: We've made stuffing in the bird in my family for the last 25 years, and never had a problem. They could announce that eating it that way causes cancer and I'd still probably make it in the bird, because it is SOOOOO much better and moister that way.

@ElleL: Reminded me so much of my brother, and it kind of freaked me out because while I knew when he was supposedly back on drugs, I didn't know that was what that behavior was. Eerily similar...

@lovecake: Aw hey, it's not too bad! At least the four years I was up there— other than a lot of partying (which yes, has some violent incidents tied to it) I never saw anything overtly different that night than other big party nights (Halloween, etc).

@bluebears: I'm in the same boat— Big Ten represent!!

@PIKITIS!!: @Danielle Kouyoumdjian: Or you weren't hit on because you sound a bit smug and superior in re: to how your boots and your friend's dress didn't "fit in" with the rest of the crowd. Generally not the most approachable attitude...

I got the impression from the first posting on this that the Fields of Stelae were not identified in the photo in the magazine.

@Cairn: Or maybe they're trying to figure out if the win is legit given the whole t-shirt gate thing?

@seachange: Yeah, I'm going to go with it being a nice surprise. I think it would only be a jerky or controlling thing to do if Lilly told him she really prefers to know where she's going ahead of time, and he still wouldn't tell her.

@morninggloria: I am SO glad I moved two years ago. Everyone here in DC complains about the Metro (and the cold!), and I just feel myself in complete bliss everytime I get on it.

Huh, I actually interpreted the description above of Amy Winehouse's dad as his implying she possibly had a leaky heart valve, not a leaky implant. Especially with the earlier reports that she was hospitalized because of a bad reaction to cold medicine. Cold medicine is known to exacerbate existing heart issues...

@Dancingfrog: Oh definitely, hope it didn't sound like I thought that part wasn't a problem.

@Sadako: Okay good, I'm not the only one who was thinking that. If I started watching a movie on my laptop on a plane and some woman's kids started craning over to watch too and she was encouraging it, there would be some pointed glaring and shifting away.
