Drafting exists in spec Miata, and everywhere else cars race together on the same track.

Damn you kinja, my video comment was classic top gear comedy GOLD!

I don't see a women's series as a dead end though. Racing isn't the same as other sports. I also don't see how it's an insult to women, when there are functional women's leagues for other major sports. If it's done in a way that directly translates to an ongoing championship series, then you're building data about

Well, no because my point was that the alternative is, literally, doing nothing. The status quo is very few women getting very few opportunities, and telling young girls that they can be race car drivers isn't going to open up seats for women to fill. The only way they should get in to the top level is if they deserve

The gender roles argument only goes so far. At some point the construction of the human brain, and the way it differs between men and women, would suggest some physiological differences between us that makes men more inclined to be interested in high speed competitive motorsports. Not that women can't be... maybe most

I think you've got to put up a ladies class just to increase the number of qualified professional female racing drivers. If you put the girls in a spec car that is in use in a high level feeder formula, and they put up the lap times to prove they deserve to be out there in the full field, then you've got irrefutable

I told ya those Jackass movies were a bad influence, even when it’s not the kid that saw the movie.

Well then, that settles it, doesn't it?

It was unfair, and well beyond the expectation any driver would have had about fair use of the track. It should have been illegal at the time. just because their rule book was insufficient at the time doesn't mean it was fair.

Taking advantage of runoff area is cheating. He could not have made the pass and stayed within the defined track boundaries. He oversped the corner and took advantage of the runoff area.

Ya, but, do they have to be such bad movies? It wouldn't be such a big deal if car movies were more common, but they are few and far between, and we always get fed the same kind of movie just because it works so well with the simpletons.

An interview news program on CNN.

Thanks! How closely involved are you with the selection process at the boot camp?

How has the GT Academy effected how you see drivers and driver development?

For Indy to grow you want sponsors competing for space on race cars. For that to happen you want more people watching racing of all kinds. More people watching F1 and Indy, rather than one or the other, is what's best for everyone.

And for a cheaper price you get a cheaper race series... that has a recent history of near-collapses, the CART/IRL split, hijacking and brinkmanship, and so on.
