Icewind Dale is, together with BG, one of my favorite AD&D videogames. It has the same charm as the Etrian Odyssey games, as in, you create your own party, make up a backstory (both series just mention that you're a group of adventures looking for an, how surprising, adventure) and just go out and explore.

It's silly to imply more detailed graphics will mean no one will make a game with a specific art direction. For every Spyro, there's a SOCOM, some game trying to look as realistic as possible with the limited resources of the platform. There will always be games that aren't trying to mimic reality.

You know... Infinite really wasn't a *great* game. I think that reviewers suffered from excessive Levine-Love at the time. In any case, this is unfortunate for those that were let go - but that's the way the industry goes. You can't maintain peak staff levels once the game is fully cooked.
