Retrofitting old homes with proper insulation is the problem. One should really be using 2x6 walls so you can with the entire wall structure as built is getting at or over R21. Retrofitting 2x4 walls is doable but its major surgery. Old (poorly) build/designed homes really should loose value given the poor

They typically have a small cover over/inserted into them that either has to be removed or popped open. New Benzs do not use the hole style and have more familiar scissor style jack.

A bent Mercedes Benz OEM tire jack. The small round part goes into a hole in the sill plate built into the body of all older MBs. Its a really sketchy way to jack a car up. I’ve never seen a bent one till now, the jacks are not stable. 

I’ve always hated Benz tire jacks, they are an accident waiting to happen! (as demonstrated here)
