(but with better mechanical engineering) You can buy a base model or a loaded lux model in Europe just like you could buy a stripper Ford/Chevy or a loaded Ford/Chevy in the usa.

The VIN starts: WDB124, so... Its a W124. 

Not familiar with the 4cyl but it sure does look like it has an AC pump and the hoses on the engine just in front of the valve cover. But you do have a point about not having a dash button.

I don’t think this is a base, base model. It has ABS, dual zone automatic climate control and wood. I’m going to bother to research this but I am 99.9% sure a base euro model would not have auto climate control and wood. Its def a lower end trim package just don’t think its a true base model.

I’ll buy that story for IL.
