I didn’t see the episode, but apparently Hota mentioned, on air, that Matt had texted her to congratulate her. That’s so tone deaf for so many reasons. It says she needed to mention that Lauer passed her the torch and that she needed to publicly tell the world that for validation. And the fact that he’s not completely

My hot take is the mythology MOSTLY worked, or consistently worked, and that fans for some reason really shortchange its appeal and quality when reminiscing about the original seasons. To deny that many of those episodes were some of the best is very strange to me. There’s more likely more bad MOTW episodes than there

My hot take, the mythology stuff *never* worked. The monster of the week episodes were and are still much more enjoyable.

It was very action adventure. And I hated those voiceovers.

It was pretty much 40 minutes of exposition interrupted by a Ford Mustang ad.

My Struggle II was so bad that this season could be a masterpiece and I’d still probably skip it. I’m not sure when Chris Carter turned into Alex Jones, but it’s just too ugly for me to continue with.

I rarely so strongly disagree with an AVClub review, but I thought this episode was a steaming pile of shit. I was so bored by the end that I didn’t even care about the big reveal. It was pretty much 40 minutes of exposition interrupted by a Ford Mustang ad.

Yeah, it’s a standard tv trope, like TV Fat, where the woman (and it’s always a woman; men get to be however fat they are) Is, like, twenty pounds over perfect, or TV Homely, where the woman is beautiful but has glasses and brown hair.

I don’t think it was the c-section that foreshadowed her as a nervous parent, but that the baby didn’t immediately cry and was brought out of sight. When I saw that scene, I was like “uh oh, they swapped out her baby!” But she actually thought there was something wrong with it, possibly even still born, and that

It perpetuates misinformation which serves to strip away women’s rights when writers use this “abortion pill” trope.

The first scene, uh-oh y’all you know she’s going to be a problem mom because...gasp...SHE HAD A C-SECTION! Can’t even control her own birth can she?? Why did it have to go down like that? It is 2018, women have c-sections for all sorts of reasons and not one of those reasons is a reason for a mom to feel inadequate

The literal abortion pill is not available without a prescription. It is different than the morning after pill, which blocks conception. The conflation of the two is dangerous and irresponsible writing.

Thank you. Best wishes in 2018 for you as well.

Nice bit of in depth analysis.

I hope 2018 is kinder to you.

Sorry, but only a terrible person would drug someone like that without their knowledge or concentration, whether they were 15 or 18.

In a Season 5 episode, all online commenters who’ve said “I’d rather X than Y” are given the choice between experiences X and Y.

Oh look, someone trying to out-Brooker Brooker by aping his Screen Burn writing style but with all the funny removed. That takes me back to 2006.

Are.... are there people on this post debating the merits of whether this would work on a guinea pig?

This is gonna sound terrible-but I look at the running time of these Black Mirror episodes and that’s how I decide if I will watch them. It makes a big difference if you want to commit to watching a 90 minute film.. or a 50 min episode of a series. If the episode is as long as a film.. than I start to think of the
