Why don’t more people love him?! I don’t get how he’s not mentioned as frequently as Colbert and Kimmel.
I love you. I love that you googled RBF, posted Wikipedia’s long list of suggestions, and pleaded for Rat Bite Fever as the relevant RBF.
Omg! This made me way too happy. Yay, Whitney! This weekend’s Dirt Bags were a lot easier to track than previous weekends’, and I didn’t realize why until just now. :)
Obviously I’m not Allison Shoemaker, but I have to say: It’s okay to accept someone’s offer of help. It’s okay to ask for what you need. You’re not stupid or annoying. I’m sorry you’re feeling bad, and I hope things get better.
He knew it was wrong. He sent weird apologies to the women he victimized. He comes across as both narcissistic and self-loathing and I think he gets off on seeing how much he can get away with.
My god, yes. I’d been a fan of Louis CK—enjoyed Lucky Louie and Louie, was familiar with his standup—and when I read the rumors I was not surprised. I thought he was talented but didn’t understand how he’d gotten this rep as a progressive, feminist ally.
Interesting! Where did you read/hear that Brosh McKenna is getting tired of the musical cues?
It’s also hard to confront friends, especially when rationalizing whether they’ll listen, how saying something may upset relational dynamics, what long-term repercussions speaking up may have, etc. And at the same time, confronting these behaviors makes explicit our refusal to condone them AND—likely and…
So many things about this story made me laugh, including the thought of Justin Bieber watching a middling, 20-year-old comedy starring second-tier SNL alums and thinking, “This! This is the career I want.”
Do you mean the San Jacinto dorms? I’m pretty sure there are bars on the windows of the Jester dorms, too. And unless my memory is terrible, on the windows of Andrews, Blanton, and Carothers as well. I thought windows were barred to prevent deaths by suicide.
“...Revolutionary War heroes, reflecting the city’s place on the right side of history.”
Haha! I didn’t mean to be pedantic. I just really like talking about Travis the chimp.
It was actually a friend of the chimp’s “owner” who had her face torn off. It’s such a sad story, but I take every opportunity I can to share this terrific piece: http://nymag.com/news/features/70830/
Omg yes

He’s also written a few really popular sketches—David S. Pumpkins, Kevin Roberts (“Can a bitch get a donut?”), Peter Dinklage singing about space pants. And one of my favorites in recent memory—the Chris Pine cotton candy/backpack fashion show party.
I agree, that was fucked up! Also so sitcommy—I couldn’t believe the writers pulled that.
“You have to forgive me” was one of the few times I thought Carrie was in the right with Aidan. He took her back, knowing she had cheated on him the first time, and then proceeded to be a passive-aggressive jerk about something they’d supposedly moved past. He DID have to forgive her. Or break up with her.
Just wanted to say that I found your “wasabi” autocorrect delightful.
