Idris Elba is attached to star in Bang!, a Netflix film adaptation of the Dark Horse comic by Matt Kindt and Wilfredo Torres from Deadpool 2 director David Leitch. Adapted for the screen by Kindt and Zak Olkewicz, the story follows “a terrorist cult that sets out to start the apocalypse with a series of novels meant

James Gunn telling people to “calm down” about Peacemaker sounds great until you realize the guys making Batgirl probably thought they were fine because the movie was done.

Couple minor mistakes listing Sony when it should be HBO in both the Supergirl and Peacemaker stories.  But given that Sony is almost just as bad with IP I can see them somehow screwing this up even without doing anything.

At this point I wouldn’t even classify it, if the whole tax write-off thing is true, as a “misstep” so much as them taking cold hearted advantage of tax laws and using it to their advantage… the talent involved in the movie be damned.

New Mutants didn’t break even, but it’s still better than eating the full production budget. I wonder if the decision, to cancel the project and not release to streaming, had anything to do with the actors’ contracts.

The director of New Gods is on record saying it was Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut that got it cancelled.

I’m kinda looking forward to Rebel Moon, because if it’s not too pretentious it could be the right mix of fun and stupid. Based on the opening ten minutes of Man of Steel he would’ve been happier making a live-action Heavy Metal movie anyway.

lol visionary directer. foh.

My guess is that the old regime thought superheroes were a passing thing, but Snyder was a visionary director, so it would be better to have an auteur’s take on DC characters than a franchise to rival the MCU. That approach had worked well for the Nolan Batman trilogy (two of which were massive blockbusters). I think

The same guy who killed Raised by Wolves? FUCK THAT GUY

Let me get this straight: they gave Zack Snyder six hours and an additional $70M to shit the bed (after giving Whedon an additional $20M to also shit the bed), but now they’re worried about quality!?!

These jokers released two versions of an abhorant film with nearly triple the budget, the second time after a bot and harrassmant campaign encouraged by the director. F this.

This is absolutely beyond wild. To spend as much money as they have, to essentially have the film by and large complete…. To have Michael freaking Keaton returning to the role (albeit for the second time)… and to give up on the film just like that?!

Wow, only 5 years too late.

I laughed hard on the slow pan reveal of John Lamarr all beat up in bed with Talla. That was so funny.

I’m so looking forward to Prey.

The CG animals look a little off in 'Prey', but damn if I am not excited to see it this week.

I’m reminded of Martin Starr, who was given a no lines/no name part in 2008's Incredible Hulk. He’s just some student in a computer lab (initially credited as Amadeus Cho, which is a whole other can of worms) who eats a slice of pizza and mugs for the camera.

She’s actually fully topless but with a skin condition. Body positivity!

yaaaaas 100% happy for confirmed renewal. Sara Tomko is my latest (suuuuper healthy) obsession. She’s great.
