Musk made the Supercharging stuff free to license awhile back, I think (citation needed). Any other automaker can use it, but no one wants to be the one to say, “Tesla did it first, and better than we can.”

Let’s not also forget the fact that if you even think of changing brands, you have to think about a completely different infrastructure, because god forbid anyone mandate a charging plug standard.
