Considering the fact that the racing GTI is a four door, I wouldn’t call a four door TCR road car such a stretch.

They, both the dealer and the previous owner, know what they’ve got.

Oh, she turned me into a newt!

Yep, the only answer is the GTI. I made the same move, from a R56 Cooper S to a Mk6 GTI, and it was a wise decision.

Yeah, maybe Patrick should’ve had his morning coffee before posting this.

TL;DR

Am I bad for wanting the V6 despite some of the drawbacks?

Any color > 50,000 shades of gray, white, and black.

Dayum dat orange!

I’m positive I’m playing above my own abilities, though I like to read up on theoretical physics here and there.

Don’t forget that weirdo torque dip in the middle on the 86.

From Wikipedia:

I agree.

If the DRL didn’t jut out like that, i think the headlights and overall shape of the front would evoke the MkIV Supra in a tasteful, forward-thinking nod to the past.  Also the center bit that comes forward away from the rest of the bumper, that’s unnecessary.

That’s a good way to simply my pre-coffee word barf comment.

Supra-centric snark aside for a minute, I feel so conflicted about the design.  I love the rear fender haunches, I like the little ducktail on the trunk, and I like the proportions from the side.  But, overall the design feels... disjointed?  It looks like a bunch of good designs were combined into one car because

if the ST manages to sell, I bet an RS model wouldn’t be a hard sell for the big bosses.

I think it’s weird, but with the way car designs have been getting more and more busy, it could’ve been worse. The front will probably end up growing on me eventually.

If they did, they should’ve kept those little vertical dividers in the grill from the GT.  They could be ‘fangs.’
