@Kitradu: I always loved when Calvin's dad tried to be clever. This is the greatest power adults have over children - hilarious lies.

I loved this article, Esther! I also think another interesting change in language was the eventual palette shift between p-v-b, ch-g, etc. It's fascinating to me how we have changed our languages over time in order to accommodate new ideas like color and even pronunciation. Any other books you like on this subject

@Davio: I was going to say terrible, but let's go with yours.

@strawberrycream: this shit is hilarious. "hot inserting" and "simulate model arbitrarily" are too good to be true.

Watch that part again, esp. the part where he's putting on his robes and maester chain. After he sets himself in the mirror, he turns to the door, standing tall and erect, opens it and immediately curls his back and looks more like an old man that needs a cane. I thought it was a quick, but clever bit that serves to

@Static Jak: definitely hit the books. I remember reading the first one and immediately being sucked into the others. I am currently attempting to get everyone else to read them.

That is super cheap! It is totally worth it. While I had a few problems with the game, the presentation and overall flow of game/story was just a lot of fun and super pretty. I think the developers of this game really found an interesting and new way to make games for the iPad that I hope others will pick up on.

But is Long a scholar or academic in any way? Does he suffer from PTSD? How will the results of his trip in a box relate at all to PTSD? Will he be writing a paper that connects his experience to PTSD sufferers in some meaningful way? I am skeptical. Seems like a fun stunt (though I doubt sitting in a box for days on

@splines: I also enjoyed how he dressed himself, did some silly stretches, and then visibly/physically went back into "old fool" mode before exiting his chambers.

@Lackshmana: See, I believe this is the current problem. I haven't really been wowed by a Japanese role-playing game in years now. Granted, I played the crap out of those games in the early 90s, but now I just don't see them entering my list of "games to buy." I find I'm more excited about games like Skyrim. Maybe my

My toes are very dexterous.

@bob_d: I think this is the official reboot of Christian myth. Maybe they'll reboot with Noah a few years from now.

@akacrash: I am also excited, but still guardedly optimistic. I just feel like the production will run out of steam and leave everyone hanging for some reason. The series is obviously made to be an awesome TV show though. My fingers are hurting from being crossed for so long.

I always liked the whole shield part of Cap. I really feel that it makes him (tonally and physically) different from lots of other superheroes.

@Kip Russell: more bands than Ritchie Blackmore has created

I think the Nathan Drake halftuck would be the tuck of choice here.

@Rapture Rising: But I think the point was that because it was a business event, she should have been allowed to be there regardless what the game was, but because it was an event for "men only," she was excluded. I would be pissed too if I was excluded from specific events at my job because of my race, gender, etc.
