@MifuneT: I would have loved to drive up Laurel Canyon and down Mulholland. I would have thought those two places would be in there solely because of their links to notorious murders in LA. The scenery would be great though!

*internet fist bump*

It's relevant because these are both platforms in which to download games. Do you believe that these two spaces are not related to each other because of the platform or because the type of games differ? I believe that Nintendo et al are all in competition with Apple's app store. How many times have I chosen to spend

probably. I've played it a million times. I'm thrifty.

It is an awesome game, but I really only see myself paying 5 bucks tops for gameboy games, really. 3 - 4 seems alright, though 3 dollars is closer to competitive pricing with 2.99 apps on the iPhone (which are usually the "pricier" games).

See, this is where I think Nintendo might stumble when pricing games here vs. pricing games on an iPhone. I'm just not sure it 4 bucks for that old Donky Kong is worth it. Is it? How much should you pay for a gameboy game? If you pay 5 bucks for a NES game on the Wii, how much should a GB game on the 3ds be?

@rockmace: Latin fun lesson: Dexter = right, sinister = left. Think of the interesting connotations from the words that contain those roots!

So they're basically saying they have no plan, but they need to have one?

@Lights: read io9 every once in while!

I think the accessibility is the key. Willingham uses public domain characters in ways that we understand, but when he surprises us, we enjoy it because we understand the context of the world the characters are in. Moore does this too, but I find that a lot of the clever moments are these "ah-ha!" moments where you

maybe they're the same man constantly metamorphosing from one identity to the other a la some kind of Quantum Leap. Must be frustrating for both of them.

@MissBuckyC: that's what I'm going for. to each their own, I guess, right?

I tried so hard not to envision Vin Diesel (I don't like him as an actor at all) as Shadow, but it kept happening. Then I would try to read him as someone else and he always ended up looking like a muscular Neil Gaiman, which seemed weird. Happens every time I reread the book.

I often compare Fables to Alan Moore's reference-heavy League of Extraordinary Gentlemen stuff, though where Moore is often esoteric (to a fault), I find Willingham clever without trying too hard - though I love both books lots.

I read this over at comicsalliance, and I was thinking the same thing: Marvel's 1602. To tell the truth, I've never been totally attracted to DC's characters (sans Batman and a few others), but this would be a cool way to view some of these characters in a new light. Hell, I never liked Aquaman, but his 1000 story

so will there be other marvel-related heroes and what not in this game or only cap?

@TheZeroOne: Also, this video is hilarious.

@Xeo: I don't think Brutal Legend was hokey to the metal scene. I saw it as an homage to the history of metal - from the 60s, to 80s silliness, etc. My metal friends and I all enjoyed the imagery and the soundtrack quite a bit. If they had tightened up the gameplay, it would have been a better game obviously.
