My friend left a terrible marriage last year and we had a Divorce Party for her. We were going to go with a cake topper as you described but ultimately we decided to do a stand alone woman, with stars and rainbows around her. To the happy days ahead, we toasted.

Mr. Who and I both have a love of Legend of Zelda (we both have our own LoZ tats). So naturally we kept that theme for our wedding. First pic is the toppers on our cake and the second is the standard pic from the etsy shop. This is my LoZ tat as well 😊

The future hubby and I are HUGE Star Wars fans, and there are going to be Star Wars touches in our wedding...and what better way to show the fandom than with cake toppers! Plus the “I love you” “I know” was part of our engagement photos/save-the-dates, too. :)

Etsy had a ton of adorable cake toppers like these but they were way over budget, so I bought the blank people from a craft store and painted them myself. I already had most of the paint so I think they cost about $10? I secretly hope if we ever have/adopt kids they’ll enjoy playing with these someday.

My mom had ours made (Etsy is apparently THE place to get cake toppers). The light sabers are our wedding colors, and the outfits are what we actually wore. You can’t really see it very well, but there’s even a little floral-y pattern on my husband’s shirt and the dress has the same little seams mine had.

I’m a knitter, so I knit a tiny bride and tiny groom and affixed them to a small slice of wood, which was actually from a set of coasters I found on etsy. I glued a lid from a can of something (beans? who knows) to the bottom so the wood would not sit directly on the cake.

Our wedding isn’t until October but we have our topper already! Found it on Etsy. It was a splurge at around $200 but its essentially our only major splurge.

Our cat children couldn’t be at our wedding, so they were on the cake topper with us!

I like to think of it as the yodeler from Price is Right. Yes we keep going higher but the hot take cliff is near.
