Like my friend said, this thing has no right to be this capable... Properly impressive!
... an holy hell was that thing glorious! As you guys might know, I’m not an expert in offroading but ohhhhh crap is it fun to learn! And I did I enjoy pushing that thing! Such a different experience from track or mountain roads... I may or may not have crapped my pants a few times. And I loved it!
I don’t work for JDM-Expo but I help them get content from time to time (pics, occasional video)... I went to the Tokyo Auto Salon and they asked me if I could do a walk-around of the show itself and of the BH Auction.
The SJ10 Jimny just kicked some ass! The JA71 couldn’t keep up due to the street tires, but it did fairly well nonetheless... But that SJ10... Oh my... It did so damn well, crawling up or down, it did not matter, nothing stopped it! Just a glorious old thing! I even jumped it and it took like a champ! My back on the…
Comparing both offroad with a friend tomorrow :)
Parking. Space. Or how to fit 3 cars in a two-car port because street parking is forbidden... That implies leaving your longer car at work (here my RX-7) and getting something much smaller instead (a 550cc Turbocharged Jimny because boxy and easy to park).
Suspensions were noticeably stiffer compared to the other ones I’ve had and it made the car quite a bit better... It’s far from at ease on those tortuous roads, but it’s A LOT better. So if you like JDM Galant VR4, here is the walk-around and test drive of one I spent the day with today :)
Thought I’d share them here... The FD is leaving to PA next week so that was a little test drive before it ships, making sure everything is fine...
.... and it will be in a 1978 2-stroke 550cc Jimny. I have ZERO offroading experience. What do you guys recommend? I will also bring a more modern turbo 550cc Jimny along with a behemoth on wheels: a lifted turbo diesel manual Mitsubishi Delica! But the 2-stroke Jimny will be my first one :)
There you go with a last batch of pictures! Tried to work on my panning skills a little... 200/250+kph at 1/60th haha... Not super successful but I got a couple decent shots...
A few pics taken from the Team Taisan auction while I’m at it...
A friend of mine (who happens to own a Gumpert Apollo) gave me a pit access pass for the Japanese reveal of the new Appolo IE along with a pass for the Team Taisan auction that took place during Sound of Engine, a race cars show on Suzuka circuit... I could park in the middle of Lambos and Mclaren right in the middle…
I’ve been waiting for that one for a while now! What a blast! Most powerful MR2 ever with the stock JDM-only 245hp 3S-GTE engine, nice LSD, Tein coilovers, cool look... What a car! I would need more seat time in a rev2 to really compare the two, but the turbo felt a bit more responsive... I couldn’t really feel the…
I rarely sell Skylines... Reason being that those cars used to be worth nothing here and they were treated like shit most of their lives... Badly maintained and beaten around. But, once in a while, you find a good one. This 4door GTS-T Type M is one of those times :)
Tavarish’s paradise! Seriously though, that F12 hurt to see... Californias I’m ok, 355F1 I’m ok... But that F12. I have my limits!
I have what is close to be the ultimate Miata for sale: A Eunos Roadster V-Special that’s 100% stock! I’ve been wanting one for quite some time and I finally manage to find one that wasn’t super expensive!
Driving in the mountains is the only thing we’ve done during the past 3 days. Here are some of the car pics :)
And I have no idea how many were made... Can’t seem to find the info either. Anyone would know?
... I finally could reinstall a triple monitor setup and my G27 today... The steering will need upgrading at one point, but still, truly stoked being able to play on the Ring again, albeit from my home :)
You might remember that one as I had it for sale a few weeks back and I posted about it... Yeah, I didn’t sell it, I bought it for myself :)
