Use a toothpick or tiny nail to make the holes. Tie your ribbons around the orange first, because it is easier. Left long enough, and with enough cloves they will dry out and smell really nice.

Band-aids work well too!

You might get a little sore thumb from pushing the clove into the rind; wear it like a badge of honor.

This just zapped me right back to childhood. I recall making these with my mom and at the time I thought they were so ugly. I think they’re way cooler now. 

Well, the placebo effect is real. So, if a person truly believes the crystal is helping them, they may in fact get some benefit.

Gawd. I made these in the early 80s with my cousins. You’d routinely nick a finger making pilot holes for the cloves, which would invariably get citrus juice in it. But as a fifth grader who also trafficked in macrame and shrinkydinks, making pomander balls made me feel like a “lady”. 

I guess we’re supposed to watch the vid? I’m not gonna either.

As I get older, my 3 P.M has become my 6 P.M. I now understand the reason for Early Bird Dinner.

Firstly, this guy is definitely NOT good at sex with “his woman.” No man who is good at sex tells a woman he’s good at sex. He lets that be a happy surprise for her further along in the relationship (or further along that night, given the nature of the hook up).
