Turtles on Switch was the only news I needed to hear today. I really hope they do a physical release.

It feels like it was added a deterrent to keep players from engaging in wanton slaughter of civilians than anything else - maybe a bit of commentary of oppressive policing systems as well. You’re really not meant to interact with them anyway, and the game doesn’t provide you with any benefit for doing so.

When CDPR manages to fix it up to be the equal of the police response AI of open world games of, say, 2002, then we’re finally getting somewhere.  That would seem to be a low bar in 2021.

Jokes aside, this. The cop system is so non-existent and unnecessary that it’s basically a gamey-ass annoyance and not something players are supposed to engage with. It’s not GTA were the cops are for imersion and emergent gameplay.

On PC, at least, it’s perfectly playable and enjoyable for the story and the setting, at least. Buggy, yes, but the crappy AI —police and otherwise — is the only serious disappointment I’ve had with it.

Did they add a proper dispatch system for how the cops work? Because they aren’t gonna fix the issues people are having by just moving a spawn point a bit further.

There’s plenty of solid lore from the Cyberpunk TTRPG already. It’s not like this was an unlicensed setting they were creating from whole cloth.

Have you played it? The storytelling is fantastic. 

I think a lot of people are waiting for it to be fixed before they play it, especially people on the base console side of things.
