I can't believe this game has gotten all this hype.

The weather in my bathroom is pretty much consistent so I guess they could market this feature on my current tube..?

Awesome concept. Resolution is a deal-breaker though.

@coodgenducta: I'm not saying they suck, I'm saying the article calling W7 tablets sucky stipulated that one of the things that makes them suck so suckily is the sucktacular pricetag. I've got nothing against W7 tablets, personally.

@Donatom3: Both those instances are only partly true. Being a graphic designer who uses all of the above mentioned programs, there's no way you can replace a mouse's accuracy with a finger tip.

I find this funny having just read the article swearing off reporting on W7 tablets.

@coodgenducta: A stipulation was price. The workable XP/W7 tablets and convertibles all top the $1k mark, entering the "suck" category.

There's a reason laptops have dedicated mice and keyboards. Full OS's, as they stand today, cannot be properly used as a tablet. To assume a device with the pin-point accuracy of a mouse can be replaced by a dude's chubby index finger is ridiculous. Android and Apple did it right. A W7 tablet would blow monkey chunks.

@MazdaMania: Its lines like that that keep bringing me back to Giz. When I want proper english and disconnected reporting I'll go to the Wall Street Journal. When I want stories that read like I'm getting the information from my buddy at the bar, I come here. Accessible, informed, casual, funny and opinionated. These

@DaCapin: I respectfully disagree. I've got an android smartphone, an iPad, a Dell laptop and an iMac. The smartphone never leaves my pocket and I mostly use it for communication only (I hate reading news on that tiny 4" screen). The iPad is my on-the-go computer. I use it around the house, when I go on weekend trips,

Great article. I agree that CES isn't what it used to be, but the public geekery is still a blast to behold.

How long until a company releases a HTPC that plugs-and-plays like a set top box but doesn't have the codec problems and restrictions? Seems like the logical next step.

@PsychoSuperman: I whole-heartedly agree. HTPCs are going to be much more common in the next few years. I think these set-top boxes are watering an appetite that consumers will take to the next logical step later on (that step being HTPCs that aren't crappy, crippled devices).

@Mike_TeeVee: I got a chuckle reading this post! I was hesitant when dad hooked up a MCPC to his 50" downstairs but its turned out to be quite the bonding place for the family to chill and still be connected. Stories like ours definitely point to technology being a unifier and start me second guessing the wisdom of

I much prefer my imac's design to this. Pack all the components to the back of the monitor and keep my desk clutter free. The wide base on this thing looks like they tacked a monitor (albeit a sexy one) onto a netbook. Bleh.

It'd be pretty sweet to catch pulp fiction in its true aspect ratio

Ugly as sin. You'd think after this many years on the market the ThinkPad brand would get a modern reboot of their logo. This thing is going to come out of the factory looking outdated.

@MrTripps: I'm a huge movie buff and I'm in love with SPVTW. After seeing it in the theater I researched how well it was doing and was shocked to see how poorly it was received in the box office. Its sad to see innovative and creative films like this go unnoticed while regurgitated crap like Iron Man 2 or Tron Legacy
