Considering that long-exposure shots need the camera to stay perfectly still through the entire shot, I don't see how apps like this are appropriate for a cell phone's camera. If I plan on carrying a tripod around with me for my cell, I might as well grab my camera and forget taking artsy photos with my phone.

Some of these work really well. Others would need a logo redesign to work properly. Neat concept though. The red bull can and the Mr. Muscle cleaning stuff especially prove their point.

Its my theory that 3D is all about the first 5 minutes. Its that point that you catch your first popping image, see characters jump off the backgrounds, see your gaming character dodge a bullet or whatever. After that point most people tune out the 3D "experience" and drink in the film/game/TV show for what it is. A

@Joe Brown: Hey man I didn't mean any offense. I've got a bad habit of assuming the worst about things I'm not sure of.

@Emperor_was_a_jerk: This was my first thought. If its a story, well damn that's random. But this story is rank with marketing lingo (thank you PR/Advertising minor). I understand Giz has to pay the bills somehow, but I'd like it a whole lot more if they were up front about what's a story and what's an ad. Now I can't

I was with T-Mobile and fully expected to cancel before the 2 years were up (getting married soon, time to dump the family plan with my siblings). So throughout my service I made it a habit to call from time to time to complain about reception (which really did suck) and about my device (complaints that everyone has

That's shmexy. Did TracPhone use these back in the day? Cuz it seems all kinds of familiar to me.

Montgomery Mall? Dude that's my home town! I'm honored to reside near a Giz author. mmmmmmmmm

Unless I had the magnet in my hand at all times, I feel like fishing for this to throw would be more dangerous than just flipping the car off and continuing on my way.

Pretty cool, but I don't understand the candy-cane as a rifle. Let him hold his blaster and put a santa hat on Fett (that way he's delivering a gift to Jabba. GET IT???). This just seems dumb.

The facts: TIME wants to sell magazines. POTY is a big issue. People recognize Zuckerburg. People, for the most part, like him and his product. People will buy the magazine.

In a world evolved through the survival of the fittest, how does this thing still have wings?

Developer: "Lets develop a camera that shares photos on USB sticks!"

@gp1138001: True, but it'd be nice to keep the advertising in the banners, not the published 'articles'. Altho last night on the news I saw a 5 minute segment dedicated to ways to fend off the seasonal flu, 4 minutes of which was dedicated to Tylenol flu syrup. I guess everyone does it.

I've seen so many blatant advertisements passed off as articles it saddens me. Tis the season I suppose.

@DangerousLiberal: Hmph. You'd think they'd let us know when something's sponsored. Kind of disheartening to think of Giz as selling out, but then again they gotta pay the bills somehow.

Why is this a new story? Devices like this have been around for a decade.

Specs! Bells and whistles! HDMI! Gaming! And its a phone too!

@meehawl: Agreed. I balked at that as well.
