This thing is so on-brand for Tesla and Tesla owners, from the delusional fantasy that is is and can do more than reality, to the massively overpriced cost, to the insane after-market price gouging.

It looks like someone spend a decent sum to buy a nice clean 944 and then another princely sum in bolt-in parts to play boy racer. I bet it’s spend minimal time on a track being wringed out, which is good (but means it’s probably not actually track ready) but if that bin of parts doesn’t include seats it’s probably…
Maybe a NP if I could have seen the engine bay and a picture of the original parts box; which included the original rims and steering wheel.
The color is god awful. But I bet someone will come in here and defend it.
This car certainly looks to be in good shape, and a similar condition 944 might bring that kind of money, or at least close to it—in stock condition. The mods, though reversible, don’t add to the price they detract a bit. I can’t quite nice price this.
For all the reasons in your first paragraph, I went ND. And I agree, that’s an absolutely awful color. I also don’t love the Fuchs wheels in this; they say ’70s while the car is screaming ’80s.
Jesus man, you just summed up my entire existence in two succinct, insightful sentences (I responded same above, meant to be here)
can you imagine ordering something in 2018 and being told it may be ready in 2027?
If I was Boeing, I wouldn't be in a rush to finish those planes while Trump is in power. What with his long history of stiffing contractors and all.
Prepare yourselves for corruption on a level we’ve never experienced before. Trumps nominee for the Department of Commerce is the current CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, which has just been charged by the SEC for breaking the law.
Seriously. The XM is a bloated tank, and one of the ugliest vehicles on the road.
It will be interesting to see how OEMs react if/when any of this is put into laws. There are some in the GOP that may not go along with any of this.
Apparently all of the people cheering on the actions of Luigi think there’s room for change...
“compel Americans to accept costly EVs”
Agreed. I was going with a Metro-North pass and an Uber credit.
The answer is Buick. Forget the old-people stigma, the Envista starts at $23K, looks amazing, is small, easy to drive, frugal, and pampers you in every luxury way you can dream of. Small enough for the city but can handle a commute with equal aplomb.
If she lives in NYC her car is going to be contact parked into oblivion. She should keep her money and her current shitbox. She should also seriously consider taking the train to Westchester. In theory it takes twice as long but traffic says otherwise.
CPO Mazda 3 is the correct answer here. The very DEFINITION of “luxury-ish”. Even the turbo ones have decent fuel economy. The hatchbacks aren’t the EASIEST to park because those C-pillars are enormous, but that’s a small price to pay for such a complete package. Maintenance and repairs should be pretty reasonable…
I mean, he wasn’t wrong about the Hemi. That motor has to be a boat anchor for the brand compliance wise, especially if no one buys anything else you make.
The cold weather issue is being largely mitigated by cars with heat pumps that are massively more efficient. also, 10-80% charging times are dropping like a stone, with some cars nearly reaching parity with gas fill-ups. After 200 miles of driving I’m definitely taking a little more time out form behind the wheel than…
