And this is the guy that has the president’s ear (and ballsack) when it comes to rewriting the federal budget?

Tesla is going full Trump: keep doing terrible things and see what it will take for your buyers/supporters to abandon you. Apparently -- for both -- they’ve yet to hit those lows.
I should have nominated my old 2013 Tacoma V6 4x4 with a stick — even driving around with an empty bad and like a grandpa you’d be very hard pressed to break 17 mpg. Pretty crappy for a mid-size truck.
Man, what’s with the frantic over-reaction from MTG?
Don’t worry; Trump’s gonna remake our military with more diesel powered duce-and-a-halfs and other proven stone age hardware that will just decimate the smart bombs, hummingbird-sized armed drones, mechanized fighters, and all the other next-gen horrors that China and our other adversaries are literally showing off to…
I was going to come here to craft a thoughtful, fact-filled comment about how these policies will only give the rest of the world — and our enemies — a huge head start, how military readiness and capability will be diminished, and how it would be far better to listen to what the commanders on the field think our…
In truth, the real one doesn’t do much more.
It’s only a matter of time before Musk starts fundraising for his $100B payout appeal fund by soliciting the MAGA base.
And seats.
This is a tough one. The car looks great cosmetically, though the color is about the worst one could hope for on a car like this. The mods look like quality parts but what kind of track time has this thing seen? The history of records is sweet but 130K miles is getting up there — there are probably lower mileage 944s…
100%. Know what else is kind a fun? Driving a Hybrid like a Prius or Maverick to see what amazing MPG mileage you can post. Cars like the Prius are actually tour-de-forces of engineering, just like a BMW M3 or S-class Mercedes — the difference is each of those three cars is designed for a different hi-performance…
We should form a support group.
Right? Half the time the UPS truck would show up at your house and you’d pretty much forgotten that you ordered something. But man, it was a big deal when that brown truck pulled up to the house!
That’s about my experience in ordering my Ford Maverick Hybrid back in 2022...
I’m all in favor of Boing rushing production and taking every shortcut it can think of to get him his plane.
I love how 10-15 years ago all the naysayers were insufferable with their “Having both gas and electric motor is going to mean twice the trouble — I’ll never buy a hybrid” and “the batteries are going to cost $15,ooo to replace and you’ll be doing that after 5 or 6 years... you’ll have to be a moron to buy a hybrid.”
That poor 280z... looks like terminal stage 4 rust; it seems to be on every body panel. Considering what it would take to bring this thing back to glory, you might as well go ahead and spend 4-5X the money upfront and get a really clean one.
This strikes me as the kind of thing you go out into the garage and build over the course of a few years when you just can’t bear the idea of sitting on the couch and streaming Gilmore Girls reruns with your wife. But other than for that save-your-sanity value, there’s no way you’re ever going to see more than pennies…
I certainly hope all those that were injured have a full and speedy recovery, but I can’t help chuckle at the irony of being in a car, getting hit by a plane, and then being airlifted to the hospital...
It seems like a lot of money, but let’s be real — it is a vehicle that’s at the top of its class and it’s not priced any more insanely than a lot of cars, like 911s, higher-edition Boxters, big BMW SUVS, G-Wagons, S-class Benzes, etc. Heck, even the top-end Grand Wagoner starts at $115K.
