Everything appears to be there, but everything appears to need to be replaced, too. The seats, the carpet, the wood dash, the interior trim, the rusty seat belt latches, etc. I bet even the toggle switches are corroded. And this is the easy stuff you can see... I can only imagine the mechanical horrors you’ll run into…

That silver/chrome plastic that was used just about everywhere hasn’t aged well. I think it’s the one element that really dates these cars.

I’m 54 and I too nearly had a heart attack seeing this car and price. I don’t think it’s worth $1,695, let alone $16,950.

Chevy HHR. I rented one once and drove it across all of Nevada and Arizona and honestly thought it was a decent little car. Held lots of stuff, decent stereo, and funky in its own way. I even started thinking about getting an HHR SS panel after that, but I couldn’t quite make the leap.

Well, this suggest to me that the ex-wife was the bread earner and she was tired of Mr. Two SUVS and a Camry and wanted someone interested in an actual mature relationship, so she kicked him to the curb with a small settlement that he’s about to piss away — which will be further proof that she made the right decision.

This whole approach seems crazy-risky to me. Everyone will be depressurized for the duration, so if something goes wrong there’s no one in any kind of “safe space” to work the problem. Sad to say I have a bad feeling about this mission.

I could see these being popular in retirement areas. You’ve got the nostalgia going for it, easy for 3 couples to get in and out on their way to dinner or wherever, and a market loaded with disposable “can’t take it with you” money. Plus, in The Villages the old horn-dogs would have room to shag.
