Wow, what an unappealing color choice for that thing. It’s attention getting, all right, but... wow.

Neat car, but number of red flags for me:
Re: the 280z. That poor thing. Why the black hood bump? The AT relegates it into the friend zone. And it looks both beautiful with the paint and seats but tired everywhere else. I want to like this, but I just can’t.
Quirky, odd, rare and a bit of cool. This is hobby car perfection. You’re not going to put 15K miles a year on it, but it would be fun to just tinker and putter around with it. And rip it up though the gears without risking your license. You only live once — NP!
I’ve had my Maverick for almost 2 years and I can assure you it’s fine; just different from what people are used to. Plus it does cool things, like automatically shifts to park when you turn off the ignition.
Nothing more than the usual “don’t be the 3rd or 4th owner of a complex decade old European car” red flag/heebie-jeebies.
Hey Ford: The reason no one is buying small, affordable EVs is because no one is making small, affordable EVs. You were so on the right track, but you lost faith.
The one in my garage on the morning after I’ve made the last payment.
Someone needs to challenge Texas law and demand that the 2A allows people to open carry everywhere -- including state government buildings. I bet Abbot and those other tough guys would change their tune if they were living in the same constant fear that they place everyday residents.
I was leaning toward giving this the nod until I saw 110,000 miles and realized that’s about the 7th life out of 9 lives for a cat. And then gave a closer look to the pics and saw the other red flags... parked outside in the sun, meh apartment complex, stashed next to a look-at-me-Mustang, the air fresheners, the…
Ah, Texas. The shining star of the south.
Eh, life is all about being entertained. Think a train on a cruise is silly? Think about all the guys that spend thousands for Porsche’s sport chronograph crap and never rev the engine past 4ooo rpm. Or the countless SUVs that look butch but never go off-road. Or the people that Carolina-squat their trucks. And so…
Another vote for the Unpimp Your Ride ads. And Joe Isuzu takes second place — You have my word on it.
Neat car, but sounds like he did you a favor. I’d hate to own a car that was “cared for” by someone like that -- let alone know that I had given him my money.
I liked these things back in the 80s when I was a teen, but looking at it now the styling seems more Bricklin/kit car than exotic. This is an admittedly nicely done example but it’s not original, probably not all that comfortable, and it just doesn’t make me want to take it home. ND.
I use a different metric. In my head I use $350/mo for four years as a reasonable payment/term, assuming I’m paying less than 2.9%APR. That’s almost pocket change and the loan would be paid off before the car becomes a rapidly depreciating asset. So, I look at whatever my current vehicle is worth and decide if…
It’s the flag of losers, literally, in so many ways.
What a coincidence -- the biggest rebates are set up to go to big old bro-dozers, the vehicle of choice for brain-dead MAGA bros. Shocking!
I never understood the logic of offering someone an EV rental and then sending them out into an unknown area, where they don’t know how the car works, how far it can go, and where to recharge (and how to hook it up/what it will cost/what plugs they can use). So many of my flights have me arriving at airports late at…
Tough call as this thing looks CLEAN, and you just don’t come across cars this old, this unique and this perfect very often. That said, it’s an also-ran nothing mobile from a low point in the car world. If it were a Celica or early Datsun truck, sure. But this? Reluctant ND, because someone took a lot of that car for…
