While I love the idea of vehicles of this type, this one looks cramped, a bit tired, and it’s an old Ford Aerostar. Plus they’re asking about 2x what it might reasonably go for. ND.

Have you ever visited one of the small, dying, drug-addled towns in the rust belt or the south? Where few graduate HS and it’s not uncommon for a 35 year old to be a grandmother? The only reason right-wingers rant about CA’s problems is because they don’t want to call attention to — and possibly insult — their base.

The Ranger, all day long. First, because the Tacoma looks like it was beat nearly to death over all those miles. And second, because the Toyota is being sold at the kind of used car sleaze-marts that I’d never set foot in, let alone share any financial info with.

Maybe I’m paranoid, but I wonder if the radio coming on every time was some sort of Chinese state surveillance function. Wound’t surprise me one bit if those cars are listening to the occupants 24/7.

How can you not include the door handles from a C3 Corvette? Those things were 30 years ahead of their time.

I wonder if it was animosity toward Waymo or just the fact that it was a bunch of hooligans being drunk and stupid. Fact is that the car didn’t have a driver to defend it or drive it out of the area, and I’m guessing the self-driving software doesn’t include an “if-then” loop for “car comes under attack from drunks”.

People have been driving in NY winters for 125 years. All you really need are good tires and a brain.

Buying this would be like going to the animal shelter and adopting a dead dog. ND.

No joke -- I’ve had my 2019 Volvo for 5 years and I still don’t comprehend how to tune the radio or save presets.

Who the hell designed that, MC Etcher?

And I think VW hasn’t been listening to Americans regarding how they really want this thing configured. VW seems to be pushing it as a people mover but I think Americans want it as a lifestyle vehicle -- something for individuals or couples to take their bikes, camping gear, SUPs, etc. out for adventures -- as well as

A lot of people on here seem to have pretty selective memories. Think back to basically any vehicle built before about 1990 — the expectation was if you got to 100K miles you did well. Nowadays most cars and trucks on the road should hit 200K without any major issues (assuming you take normal care of them). When you

Eh... Airbags, ABS, Manual... for $14-$15K you could do a lot worse. Great car for your kid going off to college or for general commuting. I bet it’s dirt cheap to insure, too. Like someone else said, you get 5 years and 100K miles out of this and it’s a deal.

Meh. I’ve always thought these looked like some sort of 5/8 scale Thunderbird knockoff.

It’s sad to watch Clarkson’s decay. He should have done like Seinfeld and gone out more or less on top and then keep his mouth shut. The more he blathers (either of them, actually), the less respect you have for him.

I’m going NP on this. It’s already taken a whammy of a depreciation hit, so you can pay 20K, drive it for a few years (and maybe get lucky without too many expenses) and sell it again in 5 years for $12-$15. All the while enjoying a great looking and doubtlessly fun to drive sedan. Live a little!

Start with giving Musk his walking papers. That ought to solve 99% of the problems at Tesla, including payroll, the sales slump, QC, morale and more.

And taxpayers get to pay to have that POS truck yanked off the beach and disposed of. I actually feel bad for that cop having to have to deal with this moron.

I think they can do it. They just need to realize that most of the market is curious about EVs, but gun-shy about buying into it — and the idea of buying a low cost, 4-5 year old used EV – with no warranty and who knows what reliability – isn’t going to appeal to a lot of people. So give them a $25-30K new vehicle

Those markups don’t help Ford any; that money all goes to the dealers.
