I’m not sure if her plane was pressurized (I doubt that it was); regardless, it would have been depressurized when it hit the water and would sink in its basic crash-damaged shape. There’s a very fair chance that it could be relatively intact down there.
It’s so painfully clear to see that the wheels don’t have even basic articulation to maintain contact and grip. There’s no excuse for this (other than Tesla’s seemingly willful incompetence) as 4x4 tech has been around for over 100 years. A 12 year old could build a better system with a Lego set, for crying out loud.
The good thing is that here in Florida we make it easy for people of this age (and mental acuity) to buy guns, no questions asked/concealed carry OK. So at least they can shoot it out with the cops that pull them over or any other motorists that dare block their path.
Musk seems to be one confused guy. On one hand he wants freedom of everything/small government/absolute control of his own interests. But on the other hand he happy takes money from state and federal coffers and cries out for protection from other governments or competitors (and his own workers that dare to raise…
100%, Cam. Plus you get to an age where you don’t feel the need to prove something about yourself with your choice of cars. In fact, being the 75 year old climbing in and out of a Corvette — usually by himself, because the wife wants no part of this silliness — is kind of a sad look.
Honestly, the older I get the more cars like this appeal to me. Cheap to buy, cheap to own, cheaper to insure and no need to stress that much when parking near all of today’s absent-minded/self-absorbed zombies. When one’s “drive fast/bend-into-every offramp” days are behind them, these really are the way to go.
Pretty kitty, but I doubt this one has nine lives... maybe one good one then a feral fall from grace as by life 3 or 4 it ends up living in a barn or someplace. I bet it gets close to this price, but if it gets used a lot it’s going to start showing scars from the all the cat-fights with the mechanic. ND for me.
Trying to weigh the evils of one vs. the other is a fools game. How far to you compare the impact of Disney vs a cruise ship? Do you calculate the carbon output of all the Disney employees driving to work every day? Do you consider the man-made lakes and the impacts they have on the ecology? What about the heat gain…
ND, but regrettably. I think at 6K this would be interesting: a great first car for your teen or someone young, sane, and working hard to save their money and get ahead in life. (unlike the “I’m 22 and need a BMW” crowd).
I’m doing my part — I have a Blazing Blue Volvo and and a Hot Pepper Red Ford.
Let’s be real — this is a nice price. I mean, if this is a car you want, how often does a clean, low-mileage example pop up for sale on U.S. shores? Considering the supply and demand – and the already-paid cost/hassle of importing it – What’s a grand or two either way? Either you want this car or you don’t. FFS - how…
ND. I’ve always had a fondness for 928s, particularly the later years, but it’s always been a borderline thing as far as buying — borderline on real Porsche performance, borderline on reliability, borderline on if these things will ever really appreciate like other Porsches (or at all). And then comes this…
Yup. Looks like the SC is about to greatly limit the power of Federal agencies, and this dealer fee thing will just be the tip of the iceberg in the many, many ways that “we the people" are going to get harmed/screwed/billed.
There’s a big difference between cars that are interesting and those that are desirable. This thing sides with the former. I’d say something like this is worth $5k, max.
Easy NP. This thing is the 4-wheeled equivalent of your favorite pair of blue jeans. Hop in, tool around, get stuff done. Chances are good it will make it to 300k miles with not much more than attentive regular maintenance.
Most of those kids/teenagers grew up. I think that for most people, when their personal Venn diagram of “wants”, “finances” and “common sense” gets put on paper, the Viper isn’t in that coveted middle section.
Ford Maverick Hybrid. Now I realize that it might not be as bullet-proof as a Prius, but combine the amazing MPGs, the utility of the bed and the room for 5 passengers, and you have something that will be useful for just about anything. And because it’s inexpensive and built with a lot of common Ford components fixing…
With the price of the ad now showing $21,900, I’m going to give it a NP. It’s a sweet car, clearly well cared for, and the buyer that wants something truly nice will always have to pay a bit more. Could you get another BWM of this vintage for less? Sure. But even after spending thousands and thousands to bring it back…
