Great article. I cringe at folks' ignorance of statistics. To be fair, if circumstances were different and Silver's models showed the GOP with a 75% chance of winning, I'm not so sure some on the left wouldn't resort to the same idiotic rebuttals of the "junk science." I would hope they wouldn't stoop so low,

I missed that due to my suspect reading comprehension.

Whoops, did not realize that. Suppose I should read better.

Couldn't the Pioneer-Press's "conviction" be maintaining freedom of the press/speech and publishing differing viewpoints? Not to mention, op-eds in local papers are historically woefully written and half-baked — no point in giving them attention they don't deserve.

'Tis torture, and not mercy. Arrowhead is here

Amazing that Holmes won the Beuerlein Award 3 years in a row! That is unreal...and then 2004 happened...it's like fantasy hype is worse than the Madden Curse (see J. Charles 2011).

I don't understand why NBC/Universal cares so little about NBCSN. I genuinely like The 'Lights, and watch it every morning instead of SC. As Deadspin has wondered before, why in the hell didn't they promote that show better during the Olympics? Why do they seemingly not care about the content? I am confident I

Indeed. And your "NOTE" needs more extensive treatment — so solid. Perhaps a full post on Jezebel?

"And ripping apart the bag and eating off of it is even worse." — WHA???

Remarkable!

Nice. Putting journalistic fisticuffs aside, Wilbon was correct that DC sucks as a sports town (although LA was a horrific example of a "worthy" sports town). The Skins and Caps do have "true" fans, but the city as a whole is lackluster in its passion for sports. Not that I begrudge the city for that — it's a plus

Yep. You better believe I'm saying "I don't even care about college football. How about Matt Ryan?" in response to my co-workers' endless ribbing over Middle Tennessee.

So proud of my alma mater for making the list in back-to-back weeks. Go Jackets!

"Fuck that. This is where the rescue mission ends."

We did a combo of the Lockdown and Reward systems. Worked perfectly, but Drew is right — it is the hardest feat in parenting and those 4-5 days (took us the weekend plus 2 more days) were absolutely horrendous. I was a basketcase throughout the process, wholly embarrassed by my child's bumbling conversion to toilet

This "confusion" is displayed nearly every night the Hawks play (when Horford is injured).

I'm biased having been born and raised in Atlanta, but I strongly disagree. There are certainly elements of racism, but I have also lived in DC, NYC, and LA and have experienced similar elements in those places. DC was much more starkly divided (NW vs. SE) than Atlanta. The "silent, faux-progressive, unfounded

Ah, I think everyone is interpreting Mike's letter wrong. Standing up immediately - acceptable. Standing up immediately, grabbing your bag, stepping into the aisle and making it as far forward as possible before others stand in your way, thereby cutting 10 rows of other similarly cramped/anxious people -
