You got venetian blinds in the garage and a lift?

I;ve been driving my wife’s hand me down 05 Tc for 5 years now. 206k miles and no major issues. Just (mostly) standard wear items. I’ve literally owned hammers less reliable.

I’ve also literally owned hammers more exciting. But all in all, its a damn reliable car.

That’s why I wrote it up for you!

22 Chrysler Lebarons.

Kristen beat me to the Parsh punch, but she picked the wrong Parsh.

Sir, your posts are quickly becoming the ones that I most look forward to. Now I have to go and find that 1:18th scale 996 model I have in my closet and make vroom vroom noises.

996 turbos are less than $60k too...mid $40k’s seem to get you something pretty nice.

Yeah. Many people have something sensible and reliable like a Camry. But the enthusiast probably takes care of it, cleans it, does maintenance on it and will still mash the pedal down on the those twisty, windy roads.

I had a coworker who’s car died on the street outside her house. Rather than fix the 27 year old Toyota Cressida she was going to give it to one of the tow away charities. I asked if I could give it a shot to fix (I know my way around older Japanese engine bays) and I would give her a price once I knew what was wrong.

and...? It doesn’t matter, Doug. This isn’t a democracy. Best ideas win.

Get an Alfa GTV 2000 (or even a 1750):

Alfa Romeo Giulia

How about a BMW E9?

I was thinking the same thing. The original new MINI had engines built in Brazil, transmissions from Germany and the car was assembled in Oxford and they figured it out.

This. Furthermore, why can’t I have leather AND an LSD? I’m not buying a car with a dreary black interior when I know there’s a classy tan leather option. Too bad Mazda takes away the performance goodies if I want some peeled cow.

Not sure if I followed the instructions.

Bullshit delete is a $1200 Porsche option.

There is another MAJOR problem that needs to be stated: Tabs on the end cam shaft break off causing the motor to blow.

The cam shaft has a hub on the end of it that is used to drive the Vanos hydraulic pump (Vanos controls the engine timing). The hub has 2 square tabs that fit into oversized round holes on the Vanos
