I have to choose the [C2 Corvette Stingray], for simple virtue of look at it. If you need more evidence, perhaps listen to it will suffice.”

I was about to post "needs more Miata" and here you are!

I love the ID:Buzz + R8 combo, but I’m also pretty happy with my real-life pairings:

Aha, after more research, I found it in HB1.

Can anyone find the bill language that supports the “grants civil legal immunity to people who drive through protesters blocking a road” from the Orlando Sun article? I don’t see anything in HB1 that supports that. Maybe it was included in another bill passed at the same time?

Same car with no wrap or hardtop and only 40k miles is up on BaT right now, which should provide a good point of comparison in 5 days...

How is this not on the list? In this blue? Never going to be common anywhere.

2000 miles, from San Francisco to Dallas, to buy a 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo, largely because DeMuro and Tavarish sang the praises of the 996tt. Why Dallas? Price was right, reputable dealer, plus red interior. Plus, the opportunity to drive it home. Dallas to Las Vegas to San Francisco. I probably will never again have

It’s Boxster Red. Looked just the same in my 2002 911 Turbo (which cost a bit more than this one).

I own a 996 Turbo, thanks in part to Doug and Tavarish carrying on about them. But I’ve spent some time in a regular 996 cabrio, and I have to admit, I agree with Doug. If I were long-terming a 996, it would be the non-turbo, both because it’s cheaper and because you can actually fully enjoy the car within real world

Well, Doug, I suggested a 1965 Corvette. Since you didn’t get one, I did it myself (convertible, in goldwood yellow). We can compare notes.

Doesn’t fit the “won’t depreciate much” requirement.

Yes. Suggested this myself, and also made the same e9 suggestion last year. Nice classic car experience, full of rust issues, maintenance issues, forum flame wars, rare parts, and something you really don’t want to drive in the rain. Gonna be a fun read!

How about the classic car experience? Auctions, collectors, authenticity, maintenance, forums, older car enthusiasts. How about a 1965 Chevrolet Corvette?

They are staring wistfully into the distance because they’ll never be able to afford the 991.2 Turbo, whereas the 996tt can be had for less than $40k right now, which makes it about the greatest performance car bargain going (as Demuro and Tavarish have reminded us repeatedly).

While I love slagging on bad TV as much as the next fellow, how about the next post be “the 10 best car shows on YouTube”? Those are the folks doing good work who deserve more attention (rather than putting more attention on the bad TV work). And I could really use that list!

As a 996tt owner who researched the hell out of Rennlist before buying, I can confirm no known catastrophic failure modes. Coolant pipes can fail, and that’s a $3k+ engine-out fix, if it happens to you, but it’s a one-time fix and it doesn’t grenade the engine (happened to me a couple month ago). Just pull over, get

Doug, what about the 2001 911 Turbo you sold to the Comcast exec?

Um, wait, no AMG on this list? That seems rather a big oversight. When Edmund’s tried to sell their 2005 CL65, well, let them tell the story:

When the time comes, will be very interested in a comparison to the Golf R. Is it worth the extra money over this GTI? Inquiring minds will want to know...
