I can’t tell you how many Trump supporters (including my mother) were convinced he would not actually do all this shit. I asked her “So either he is a liar or he is going to do a bunch of terrible things?”. “We need a change” she said, completely neglecting that change can also be bad.

She wanted to make sure she got back a couple of hundred bucks in taxes.

You’d be surprised how many legal immigrants voted for Trump on the thought that their undocumented family members would be fine.

This is what I’ve been saying to my mom. So people hated the idea of a woman running the country so much they voted for someone who (a) demonstrated again and again that’s he’s a terrible person, and (b) they knew was/is dishonest? Like, what the fuck??

What confuses me are the people who are like, “I thought he wouldn’t really do those things.”

Words cannot describe my annoyance at these people who are surprised that Trump is doing all these things that he was obviously going to do. I feel sorry for the guy and his kids, but fuck this lady. Especially since she was also an undocumented immigrant! WTF LADY!

I’m fascinated by the “I did it for the economy” argument. Like incredibly low unemployment rates and rapid job growth wasn’t enough for you? The hell else did these people expect?

Because better to abstain from voting than elect vagina/emails. OK, stupid.

I’m hopeful that in time - when her job disappears, when her healthcare disappears - she’ll come to that conclusion.

The economy? Sounds like they weren’t doing so bad personally. So she voted to fuck herself over for a bunch of people she probably doesn’t even know? Or, more realistically, they were doing okay but somehow thought that they were magically going to be become rich under Trump.
