This is brilliant.

It didn't "just work", put it that way. Took eight or nine attempts. I live in an English village with a shit connection however, so that had something to do with it. One of the reasons I'm not too excited by iCloud. Love the idea, but the execution might be a problem.

I work for a publishing company in London and everyone's Blackberries have been screwed for the last few days. Will be interesting to see what corporate customers do. Out of interest, does anyone's company supply them with any phone other than a Blackberry? It seems as if everyone in the city has a work-supplied

Isn't a lot of this to do with perception? As well as being CEO Steve Jobs is also Apple's chief salesman, so his profile has to be high. Everyone knows his name because of the keynotes and the carefully cultivated messianic image that has built up around him.

Cleverly done.

Good. I prefer twitter on iPhone to the iPad app. I've found it quite buggy - it's one of the few apps where I've experienced regular crashes.

Good point. I'm English and I don't think I could differentiate between different American accents aside from obviously northern and obviously southern. I would guess there are immense differences.

Personally, I've never liked B&O's stuff. I think it comes off looking a bit 80s no matter what decade it's actually from. High-end 80s but still 80s...

Maybe in the rest of Europe... I live in the UK and I'm not aware of any local authorities that can currently recycle them so I think most end up in landfill.

It may reduce packaging, but I don't think Tetra packs are easily recyclable. But then I guess toothpaste tubes aren't either...

Electrocute is a portmanteau of electricity and execution as far as I know. So it's always fatal, or at least intended to be.

This. Dogs should be trained properly and never pull on the lead. Especially big, powerful dogs.

I hope this works out for him - it's a great idea. Proper journalism is in trouble as most people, used to 15 years of free internet news, can't bear the thought of paying for it.

Exactly what I thought. If this didn't have the Apple logo on it I don't think I'd even recognise it was an 'iPhone'. It's nice work though.

To quote another British institution, (Monty Python) "people in glass houses shouldn't..."

Not sure if you are serious here, but obviously you are implying "subjective interpretation" is tautologous. I intend it as a clarification; you could attempt to interpret information objectively. As you say, that may well lead you round in circles, but it's a question of specifying the original intent.

Subjective interpretations you can make, just by looking at someone's facebook.

This could be very useful but about £70 for the 8GB version (plus potentially paying import tax)?
