@Arggh! there goes a...snake a snake!: I find it the iPad keyboard good enough for two handed typing if it's in landscape mode. In portrait mode it's less good, an unhappy medium, which I guess is why we are seeing the split keyboard option in iOS5.

That's both worrying and reassuring. Worrying that two more people here (at least) have been struck by ceiling fans, reassuring that two out of three suffered no lasting effects.

I've always been vaguely paranoid about ceiling fans.

True. Also, can an iPad display RAW? I'm actually picking mine up today so I guess I'll be able to answer that question very shortly.

Great writing Chris Beidelman. I never buy anything from Deal of the Day, but I always enjoy your work.

Battery life is a good point, hadn't thought of that. My 7D eats batteries. I upgraded from a 20D and that would last for ages (smaller screen probably had a lot to do with it).

Hmmm... what I was interested in really was clearing cards onto an iPad or iPhone, instead of carting a computer on trips abroad.

So can you put this (or the old version) in a CF adapter and use it in a Canon camera?

Yeah, I'm at a similar point.

@MrTripps: Isn't it that once you reach triple distilled, it's all just pretty much the same thing? So go for the cheapest triple distilled vodka you can find?

Good. Because the selection of ebooks is still, quite frankly, shit.

@caeruleas: I actually didn't have to remove shoes on a recent flight from Heathrow to Accra, although everyone in the queue assumed they'd want you to, and took their shoes off anyway, so the hold up is the same.

It works, so I guess we've saved ourselves 59 pence. Score.

So what if you downloaded the beta version?*

Hmmm. Seems like he may have confused what it's sort of ok to say in a newsroom to colleagues with what it's ok to tweet to the world in general.

Same.

@Qwxptlz: Yeah... one thing I've never heard anyone say about the iPhone is "I wish it was smaller."

@DreamTheEndless: Not so sure about the ice cold part but otherwise agree. Distilleries add water to the spirit when it comes out of the barrel to bring it down to a suitable strength for sale.

@w1llk - Undoubtedly Cookies: That's interesting about your falling out of love with Islay whisky. Islays are what got me started on malts years ago, but now, like you, I’m back on Speysides and Highlands.

"Strange, ghastly colors" is bang on. ColourWare always seems to pick shades that are slightly off, er… colour. I mean, there’s no way that is an attractive yellow. It looks like the result of a particularly virulent bout of dysentery.
