Came for Robbie and McGregor, staying for the shenanigans. Looks fun.

I was very ready to not give a crap about this movie, based mostly on the title alone. But Robbie nailed Harley in this. Maybe it’s the way she says “Mista Jay.”

I’ve never been able to get over the character concept for Harley Quinn being anything but the anthropomorphization of the adolescent male gaze, after a long stroll through the garden of exploiting intimate partner violence for the appearance of ....actually I don’t know what the point of that is. But I have always

Bruh the men in FF7 are so hot I’m so thirsty

This is subtly very correct.

I’m glad to see I’m not the only one around here with impeccable taste.

Pikachu is dressed as Pikachu, he just happened to get the costume from the same place as Mimikyu. They should have had Pikachu actually dress up as Mimikyu.

Okay but that Gengar candy bucket, though.

I thought that outfit looked familiar, yet befitting for Lucario...

Lucario is dressed as his late trainer, Sir Aaron.

I am in the same horrifying, broken boat. I coped with alcohol, drugs, bag relationships, and lots and lots of sex with strangers. Now I’m married, but still an alcoholic.

it’ll be pretty hard to wash that acrid taste of contempt for the fans out of our mouths.

I’m right there with you, homie.

And that’s something that made Heath Ledger’s Joker in The Dark Knight so fucking compelling, effective, disturbing, and spot-on. Seems that they’re doing this same sort of idea in different format of plot and character development, which is quite exciting.

The joker is not a person but an idea, like batman, and that idea can take many different forms around its core. So when they announced this movie I didn’t expect to see THE Joker because (at least for me) there’s no such a thing. I just wanted to see a different reflection of the character and your review has

Yeah, I absolutely see that. And that part is bleak; I agree with that too. I just keep focusing on how happy Johnson seems to be about all of this and the genuine relationship they seem to have as a way to distract myself from the bleakness and hope that it’s all Johnson’s agency, etc. They could make an ad for

Kardashian’s hand in Johnson’s release is great. This ad still came across as a very cynical use of activism/empowerment politics for what is ultimately a brand that helps put money in Kim Kardashian’s pocket.

Agree. Alice Johnson is beautiful and also has a normal and relatable body. She seems like a good model for shapewear to me, if that’s what she wants to do. Plus, this modeling job probably paid her very well. If she wants to or is willing to talk about how great she thinks Kim is for helping her, fucking have at it.

I know it’s fun to shit on the Kardashians

I know it’s fun to shit on the Kardashians, but Ms. Johnson is free to make her own choices and I am sure she’s being paid well for her contract.

I actually love the idea that Kim is using diverse models for her shapewear line. Often, even plus size shapewear (and really, anything) is modeled by thin, flat stomached 19
